Ironically, she was already in Arizona with the McCain campaign and was flying from there, but this flight from Alaska was plenty meaningful since it was bringing her family from Alaska..... and it kicked off this great thread of hope thanks to FReeper “jokyfo”..... What an awesome thread this was!! What a fabulous night/day it was!!! Governor Sarah Palin, savior of the 2008 election (I sure hope) and maybe even the future of the Republican Party.

It really is amazing. I remember being up until close to 5am and got 4 hours of sleep because I couldn’t stop reading the updates. I had been on the Palin bandwagon since April and I was just pumped that it actually happened.

Not to take anything away from some of the other potential choices, but just look at the genuine enthusiasm she’s brought to the ticket in the last week and a half. No one else could top this.

Yeah, I read in multiple accounts of the decision-making that she flew to Phoenix on Wed. with one of her top aides, met with key McCain staff on Wed...... then met with McCain on Thurs. and once he was certain about the decision he offered her the VP spot. Then she flew with the McCains from Phoenix to Ohio and her family met them there. So you had the absolutely right instinct and inference, but so far as I can tell it was her family only and not Governor Palin on that plane coming from Anchorage.

Thanks for launching such a great (and historic!) thread!!

He won’t choose her.

Did you pay off your bets?
