the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas

The rest of us call that a one night stand, Senator.

Laughable.

“Four years ago, I stood before you and told you my story – of the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas who weren’t well-off or well-known, but shared a belief that in America, their son could achieve whatever he put his mind to.”

So that’s why your philandering, no-good excuse of a father hauled ass back to Africa and your rebellious, zany flower child mother took you to Indonesia?

How many more months must I tolerate the musings of this nitwit? I hope he is crushed by McCain in a tidal-wave landslide, so he and his wife: an exact replica of Nurse Ratched, fade into oblivion./Just Asking - seoul62......

Sounds like more of the SOS. People are going to tire of this litany of woe, because for most people, it doesn't apply. For the vast majority of voters, their bills are current, their mortgage is safe and affordable, their jobs are secure. Telling them they need to be better is not a thrilling message. The true believers will squeal in delight and Chris Mathews will have an accident behind his booth, but this crap will not move Obama's ball down the field very far from where it is already.

And I’ll invest $150 billion over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy – wind power and solar power and the next generation of biofuels; an investment that will lead to new industries and five million new jobs that pay well and can’t ever be outsourced.”

“I’ll”?

So where did you get the money for any of this?

“new jobs that pay well and can’t ever be outsourced”?

Brother....

Oh P L E A S E!!! Not the "young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas" BS again. Do we really care that YOUR mother was white & your father was BLACK?

Your speech might be better recieved in a communist country! Oh, and take all the left wing nuts with you when you go!

“These challenges are not all of government’s making. But the failure to respond is a direct result of a broken politics in Washington and the failed presidency of George W. Bush.

Make sense to anyone?

Neither one of his parents, during their brief encounter, ever cared about America. His father came to America only to be educated at Harvard, and then went back to Kenya. His mother married and lived in Indonesia for many years, never living in mainland America.Barry only put his mind to America's possibilities for himself when he realized that he could remake himself into a "product" that could be sold to the liberal Democrats. And he's done everything he could to further himself for his own political gain.

“I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and the start-ups that will create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow.

Riiight. Definition of 'small business' is any company with two or less people.
Start-ups usually don't need to worry about capital gains taxes because they are bleeding red until they make it.

“I will cut taxes – cut taxes – for 95% of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.

We don't need to raise taxes on anyone, and we don't need to create class warfare... Unless you are a Marxist.
I also suspect his definition of 'working families' is open to interpretation.

“And for the sake of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet, I will set a clear goal as President: in ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.

Nice goal. What is he going to do? Nothing. No drilling, no coal mining, no nukes....Thanks, but no thanks...

Senator Barack Obama will promise change — and spells out specifics such as tax cuts for the middle class — as he accepts the Democratic presidential nomination tonight.

__________________________________________________________

The last I heard, his plan simply didn’t raise taxes on middle-income families. When did he lay out a specific plan to cut middle-income taxes? Also, what does he define as middle-income?

This guy has not been senator for one term, and he thinks that he will do any of this laundry list of what big papa government is gonna give you?

Party of Kennedy, my ass, because I dont see where we are asked not what our country can do for you.

In 10 years... ??? Middle east... ???

Oil is a fungible commodity. If we don’t buy it from ME, we’re buying from somewhere else. It’s ridiculous. And, there is NO WAY IN HELL we could completely end dependence on foreign oil in 10 years unless we started drilling and exploring writ large, including Pelosi’s back yard. Which would happen when there’s a nice, snowy day in hell.

But, all of those idiots in Denver don’t use their brains at all nor to they understand one iota of how the world works. Hell, if 1 in 10 could explain what energy/electricity really is I’d eat my shoes.

Obama lets the Bush taxes cuts $(2400) expire. Then he give a $1000 earned income credit if your drug addict, homosexual with Aids or a welfare queen.

He’d better at least do some juggling and/or that plates-spinning-on-a-bunch-of-sticks thing during the speech or it’s not going to work.
