Because they want to believe in the dream, and they will resist mightily having anything threaten that dream. It's 1938 all over again.
But what you said about they want to believe in the dream probably wouldn't hit me this way this morning. The democrat/communist wing of the party has worked very, very hard for decades to deconstruct religion (removes hope), to create victim-hood at every glance (removes hope), and in the last decade we've been hard hit with the guilt of being an American. Everything they have done has been done to deconstruct the American Dream. You know, that Dream Obama was trying to describe last night and that he faltered over his words in trying to enunciate.
It has been the democrat policies that have removed the hope of self-sufficiency from the American people. Reagan slowed this “march” down for a few years, but we the people essentially slept. And like me waking from nightmares last night we are awakening to our changed America. Some on this thread wondering in amazement of how we got here. Wondering how our democrat brothers could nominate a character like Obama.
They (socialists/communists) think the time is right for the “transition” to a new America. The history of a rise like 1938 is sufficiently skewed in the minds of the young. They don't see it, for they don't know it.
If, if we dodge this lethal bullet this election and get McCain our work is far from done. We stand at a precipice I never thought in my wildest nightmares would be found in America. Electing McCain is only one tiny step in the massive challenge our country faces. McCain, like Reagan, is a the twig sticking out from the cliff. (Please, no offense to Reagan he was a great President.)
Obama just asked us to have ‘faith’ and to take that leap into the abyss.
