Money (con’t):
- Kurtz: Compared files of projects that received CAC money vs. those projects turned down.
- The projects that received CAC funding. Examples: The Southshore African village collaboration - to celebrate holiday of “Juneteenth”- got $200k. Considered an education grant. CAC funneled grants to external partners.
- Themes of projects funded: ethnic identity, Biligual education, An Ayers foundation (a “Peace” school) - plus maybe conflict of interest for funding one of his own projects.(?)
- Projects turned down: Chicago Algebra project, District 5 math sci initiative, English as second language - math sci improvement.
- No positive effect of CAC projects. Failed to help public schools. {Sounded like it was a conclusion of internal & external reports}.
Side Story:
Producer back in: Obama camp sends out an “action wire” regarding this radio program tonight.
DISCLAIMER: All notes are paraphrased. Not an exact transcript. I assume Stanley Kurtz will be writing a story on his findings once he is finished reviewing documents.
Producer: Obama camp mailed entire media list complaining about Stanley Kurtz. Obama website is telling people to call station to complain. It contains talking points (which are same as emails coming in). Politico put up something based on Obama’s wire.
Kurtz: I did not say it was 100% certain that Ayers was involved getting Obama assigned to Board.
- Kurtz is refuting talking points sent out by Obama team.
{MY NOTE: This info is only based on a preliminary look at files. No conclusions are final}
