Actually, our southern rock band ("Rampage") had a terrific song that was as good as any, called "Mississippi Funk."

Had a powerful bass line, somewhat like "My Girl," and the lyric was:

Take me to the Delta, where I can sing the blues

Someone give me shelter, don't want no excuse

Playin' that Mississippi funk, and that bayou music too,

Playin' that Mississippi funk, girl I wanna get with you.

Hi Texas Mulerider,Got a song you like:)

Hi right back, fatima. I like pretty much anything by ZZ or .38 Special. I've always liked Stevie Ray Vaughn's cover of Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile."

Boy, it’s hard to choose just one! But I’d have to go with “Sweet Home Alabama” because of the choir and piano.

I'd say Skynyrd but I know there will be over 9000 Skynyrd posts by the time I post this, so:

Hard to Handle by The Black Crowes

Righteously by Lucinda Williams

Hold On Loosely by .38 Special

Uneasy Rider and Uneasy Rider '88 by Charlie Daniels

Homesick by Atlanta Rhythm Section

Keep Your Hands to Yourself by The Georgia Satellites

I know they're from New Jersey, but I always thought The Smithereens' A Girl Like You had kind of a southern rock vibe.

From Mojo Nixon, Redneck Rampage (fast forward to 0:53 if you want to skip naughty intro) and Elvis is Everywhere

Southern metal: Cowboys from Hell by Pantera

Fried Chicken and Coffee by Nashville Pussy (warning: naughty lyrics)
