Ozark Mountain Daredevils!
Green Grass and High Tides. Long live the three guitar front!
Thanks Kathy (((Hugs)))
I, too, was going to say “Jessica.” Dickey Betts rules!
My other Allman Brothers favorites are “Blue Sky” and “Ramblin’ Man.”
I’m also a huge CCR fan, and my favorites are “Lodi,” “Cotton Fields,” “It Came Out of the Sky,” “Someday Never Comes,” “Hey Tonight” and “Fortunate Son.”
My non-Allman, non-CCR Southern rock favorites are “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Caught Up in You” by .38 Special, “Tired of Toeing the Line” by Rocky Burnette, and “Reuben James” by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition (many will say that the last two don’t really qualify under the genre, but I say they count).
Thanks Jen from Tn.:)
Skynrd’s Free Bird is up there among live album sides - just got overplayed.
On second thought, Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo is pretty good, too.
Very clean,good editing.Thanks Comstock1:)
A group of tunes I NEVER want to hear again
1) Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
2) Turn The Page - Bob Seger
3) Stairway to Heaven - Led Zepplin
I agree , except I like Metallica’s version of “Turn the Page”. How about a vote for Nashville Pussy?
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man. Even today that song brings a slight tear to my eye.
((Hugs))Thanks Gay State Conservative.

Midnight Rider
-
Well, I’ve got to run to keep from hiding,
And I’m bound to keep on riding.
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
But I’m not gonna’ let them catch me, no,
Not gonna’ let ‘em catch the midnight rider.
And I don’t own the clothes I’m wearin’,
And the road goes on forever,
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
But I’m not gonna’ let them catch me, no
Not gonna let ‘em catch the midnight rider.
And I’ve gone by the point of caring,
Some old bed I’ll soon be sharing,
And I’ve got one more silver dollar,
But I’m not gonna’ let ‘em catch me, no
Not gonna’ let them catch the midnight rider.

Ramblin Man
-
Lord, I was born a ramblin’ man,
Tryin’ to make a livin’ and doin’ the best I can.
And when its time for leavin’,
I hope you’ll understand,
That I was born a ramblin man.
Well my father was a gambler down in georgia,
He wound up on the wrong end of a gun.
And I was born in the back seat of a greyhound bus
Rollin down highway 41.
Lord, I was born a ramblin’ man,
Tryin’ to make a livin’ and doin’ the best I can.
And when its time for leavin’,
I hope you’ll understand,
That I was born a ramblin man.
I’m on my way to New Orleans this mornin’,
Leaving out of Nashville, Tennessee,
They’re always having a good time down on the bayou,
Lord, them delta women think the world of me.
Lord, I was born a ramblin man...
I’ve got killer tickets for Greg Allman at Chastain on 10/10.
Whatever else you say about him, the guy is a survivor. And can still do great music.
But your answer was excellent. Well done!
The editing was courtesy of Chris Lognion formerly of Media Post. I was simply a humble camera jib operator.
But I agree that he did a great job.
