Five men found slain last week in a north Shelby County apartment were beaten and shocked. Investigators believe that on Aug. 17 - three days before the discovery - the men were beaten and tortured with electric shocks, and their throats were cut, the sheriff said. in a brutal murder-for-hire related to drugs and money, authorities said Tuesday.

Four men have been charged with capital murder in the slayings, which Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry described during a news conference as being connected to a drug organization that transports cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana. All the suspects either received or paid money in connection with the slayings, he said.

Curry said he was not certain how long the suspects had been in the Birmingham area. Court records show Duenas and Juan Castaneda were in the area as far back as 2006.

Three of the four suspects are believed to be from Mexico and are in the country illegally, Curry said.

This just happened in Phoenix AZ where the illegals killed somebody dressed as swat police. When is our government going to do something about these people?

If only drugs were illegal, this sort of thing wouldn’t happen.

If people stopped doing illegal drugs this sort of thing wouldn’t happen.

I have no problem with drug dealers and drug users killing each other. I mean even the recreational users too. Use drugs and get killed sounds just fine with me.

Matter of fact, I would like to make drugs legal for one weekend every year. That same weekend, we take all the ambulances and med aircraft out of service. Overdose and call 911 for help, the dispatcher says, “Have another snort on your crack pipe” and hangs up. We could clean up the gene pool tremendously by doing such a thing semi annually.

Why make it only two weeks a year?

I'm in favor of that being a 24-7-365 policy.

Make all that crap legal, but you're on your own when you OD unless you can pay cash on the barrelhead at the ER.

These apartments and surrounding commercial area happen to be in one of the nicest areas of the Birmingham suburbs, sandwiched between conclaves of the priciest homes and best schools.

They have been saying....coming soon to a neighborhood near all of us.

Figures. When I saw the headline a few days ago, I was wondering if it was yet more Mexican criminals.

Secure the borders.

Today it's other drug dealers.

Tomorrow it will be innocent American citizens who testify against them or otherwise get in their way.

A reign of terror is headed our way. The first waves have already arrived.

Ah, if it were actually that simple. To work you would have to end the restrictions on employers which prevent them from hiring and firing based upon what they want as employees. LAwyers woul dhave to be limited to a flat fee, a low flat fee for representing drug suspects. Hospitals and clinics woul dhave to be freed up to treat whom they damn well please to treat. Police and fire fighters would have to be protected from prosecution in any questionable arrests. And parents would have to be allowed to use coporeal punishment on smartass teens as well as school allowed to give the boot to any student the school deems unruly. THEN the darwin approach would work to clean up the gene pool, over a single generation is my bet. Alas, libertarians and democrats would be out of business with such an arrangement, but there it is.

Oh, and i failed to add that any shooting in the home that even hints of self-defense would have to be a not guilty verdict, as well as allowing all citizens to have concealed carry permits and provide government funded training for using a handgun or shotgun.

Gee, what I just described is the way America was before JOhnson’s ‘great society’ started! Amazing ... who would ‘ave thunk it?

that area of north Birmingham near the Physicians Hospital is scary...i got off I-65 a few weeks ago heading south into Alabam from Nashville and didn’t realize that area south of Gardendale had gone down so bad.

had my family with me...when we stopped for gas I got the 1911 into closer reach than normal for when traveling with small kids

I said >That same weekend, we take all the ambulances and med aircraft out of service.< That would be a great time to do heavy maintenance, so they aren’t available, period!

I drive everyday around the Greensprings area and it has become a little Mexico. Banks, car dealerships the whole deal - all Mexican.

Big problem in Bama since they congregated for years in the chicken processing plants with no one doing a thing to stop it.
