Ive been to a lot of conventions, and theres always something gratifyingly weird that happens.
Dan Quayle acting like a Dancing Hamster. Teresa Heinz Kerry reprising Blanche DuBois. Dick Morris getting nabbed triangulating between a hooker and toes.
But this Democratic convention has a vibe so weird and jittery, so at odds with the early thrilling, fairy dust feel of the Obama revolution, that I had to consult Mike Murphy, the peppery Republican strategist and former McCain guru.
What is that feeling in the air? I asked him.
Submerged hate, he promptly replied.

High Anxiety in the Mile High City (by Maureen Dowd - "Teresa Heinz Kerry reprising Blanche DuBois")
I get (and certainly appreciate) the CZJ reference, but despite how much this forum has traditionally mocked MoDo, she’s been writing some fairly factual, informative columns lately. I wonder what’s come over her?
Not bad, but always go with a leg shot.
nice.
who is she?
She wants to be remembered as having predicted the McCain landslide.
Catherine Zeta-Jones. She’s extremely beautiful.
I just saw on Fox News that Obama will emerge from Greek
columns at Invesco Field. They will never learn-Thankfully
This looks like a new picture of CZJ?
Thank you.
“She added insult to injury by coming out Tuesday night looking great in a blazing orange pantsuit”
Her Heinous looked GREAT? Dowd is joking, right?
Reflecting on her own mortality and atoning for past sins?
I'd guess sobriety and a new boyfreind (or gigolo).
extremely!
Yes. Extrememely.
Ken, it is a FR requirement that if a Maureen Dowd article is posted, pictures of Catherine Zeta-Jones must also be posted. If the original poster doesn’t do it and explains that he doesn’t know how, this is lame and pathetic and the consensus is that he should have left the posting to someone who knows how to do it properly. He will be dragged off into a dark corner of FR and Dealt With by the mods. Fortunately, other altruistic posters will step up and help with the CZJ pictures anyway, as a public service.

almost never do i agree with dowd, but she’s got the flavor of this convention.
it has the feel of a train ‘bout ready to derail.
Happy travels!
