Yep - there was that scheme and also money to build low-cost housing for the poor. Rezko was involved in both if I'm not mistaken.
After renovating and building the units, Rezko got gov. money to "maintain" them.....never lifted a finger to do any maintenance and pocketed millions. They are now, according to the report I heard, vacant and deteioriating at an amazingly fast rate due to shoddy construction in the first place.
A pure rip-off of gov. funds engineered by Obama, Mayor Daley, Rezko and some other Chicago politicos.
