Cantor ping.
If McCain picks either Cantor or Romney, I’ll be a happy guy. They would both becoutstanding selections, although I think Romney would help the ticket more, especially MI.
Cantor, who has been vetted as potential running mates for Sen. John McCain

Vice President Eric Cantor
and then President Eric Cantor
Sounds great
:)
Cantor is being too kind. It it was just “lack of judgement”, they’d do something right at least half of the time. They are consistently wrong and argue that wrong is right, right is wrong and immorality is moral.
STRONG!!!!
Yeah!
A ticket we could live with, not merely survive...
Debating the merits (or lack thereof) of Romney has proven pointless, but I agree with the posters who note that, regardless of merits, it is undisputed many conservatives despise Romney and may very well not vote for a ticket that includes him.
This is true of many of the other also-rans: Huckabee, in particular.
Hence, the wiser decision (in this case) is to look outside those than ran for the nomination.
Cantor is such a guy, and is damn conservative to boot.
Name recognition will be solved about 10 minutes after he announces.
I agree 100%. Plus..I’ve seen video of Cantor on the house floor and I believe he could be just the attack dog we need against Biden, more so even than Romney since he doesn’t have the baggage Romney does that would be used against him in any debate.
I remember the '04 convention... The libs lied non-stop, and our side did nothing - NOTHING, to fight back... Glad they smartened up...
Cantor would definitely be on my short list, but I'd bet he's too conservative for McCain to be considered
I really don't think McCain can lose with Palin. He'll pick up a large portion of the Hillary supporters and solidify his pro-life conservative base in one fell swoop.
Plus he will have somebody on the ticket who has actually "governed".
This is great stuff!
You never know, but Palin will get tarred (unfairly) with all the problems of the Senator from Alaska -— they appeared together, fundraised together, she’s on video saying what a great guy he is -— all the stuff one does in a small-population state.
Palins one weakness issues wise, experience, is unassailable since Obama suffers even more from the same problem.
Time for a young, dynamic conservative on the ticket. Palin or Cantor is fine by me.
I like that!
Thank you for the ping!
If the Democrats try that, then McCain can respond by tarring Obama with William Ayers and Tony Rezko.
There is only one Vice Presidential debate and nobody is going to be swayed one way or the other by what either VP candidate has to say.
The appointment of Palin would energize the Pro-life base and put a large chunk of the disgruntled Hillary Clinton ("We want a Woman") voters firmly into the McCain camp.
All she needs to do to win a debate is to answer any questions honestly and consistently. Biden will twist in the wind since he has no real core values and neither does Obama.
“The appointment of Palin would energize the Pro-life base and put a large chunk of the disgruntled Hillary Clinton (”We want a Woman”) voters firmly into the McCain camp.”
...and that is the winning ticket
We really need to gamble because McCain should be down by 12-15%...only Dem ineptness and radicalism is saving him. My fear is that McCain will get too conservative, no pun intended, with his VP pick - trying to salt a surprising early strength in the polls.
