Two weeks after a devastating revelation sent her husband into political exile, Elizabeth Edwards isn't getting the steady sympathy usually afforded to a woman scorned.
Instead, she's faced criticism from dedicated Democrats who think she was too willing to keep the affair a secret to help John Edwards' political ambitions, as well as her own.

She was a player in the cover up. My sympathy for her is wholly for her cancer battle. She’s as much a political whore as he is IMO.
Nonsense. We should not leave her alone. EVERYONE DIES. But some of us try to live lives of moral virtue. Elizabeth Edwards did the opposite. She herself was an unethical lawyer, she stood by while her husband bankrupted every OBGYN in the Carolinas by presenting lies as "science" to confused and manipulated juries. She then stood by as her husband ran for President a second time, while she KNEW the horrible things he had done that could easily have come out after he had secured the nomination.
As I said, everyone dies eventually. I hope Mrs. Edwards lives much longer than predicted. But she has led a morally corrupt life, and her illness should be be permitted to be a shield from criticism.
Oh for heaven’s sake, it’s her business what she wants to disclose. It’s only natural not to want to air one’s dirty laundry in public.

Well, for THAT she very well may deserve criticism. But the original post was about her husbands affair.
I say leave Elizabeth alone. She’s got enough on her plate.
If she’s been so silent why is her face on the cover of a national magazine with a caption that says something to the effect “ Elizabeth Edwards. Inside her private pain”? I think she’s been silent on the internet cause she has a contract for that interview.
