It does not matter that pit bulls “can be” gentle around kids, not when the very same pit bulls can also suddenly attack with deadly force and instantly kill a child.
Why speak from fear? If you have a story tell it. I speak from what I have seen. But don't throw "Be afraid!" out there -- no one should a call to fear unless it is explained. Any animal of a size, or a human too, could immediately turn and strike to kill a child. Yet it doesn't happen often, even with pit bulls.
