Sources: McCain May Announce VP Choice Before Friday

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain may announce his choice for a running mate earlier than expected, sources told FOX News on Monday.
McCain had previously said he would announce his vice presidential pick on Friday and would appear with that individual at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, following the announcement. Friday is McCains 72nd birthday.
But sources close to McCains campaign told FOX News that his decision may come sooner than that possibly on Thursday, when Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination at Invesco field in Denver, Colo.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds diminished the news.
I wouldnt much weight into reports that there are windows of possibility, he said.
Several names have come up repeatedly as McCains possible running mate, including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge and, perhaps, Democrat-turned-independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Also named is Gen. David Petraeus, the incoming head of Central Command.

I like Palin, a lot, but I’m afraid the MSM would never stop talking about the ongoing totally politically motivated bogus investigation of her by the Alaska legislature (one that will completely absolve her in the end). Maybe I’m wrong, but if I were McCain I doubt I’d take the chance.

I agree. He does. He should shut his mouth if he can say nothing good. No longer the time.

but sadly I seen how this will play out.
Put down the Magic 8-Ball. Vote for McCain and keep Obama out of the White House, or be prepared to watch the rest of our Republic be dismantled.
McCain isn't my first choice either, but he is now my candidate because the alternative is much much worse.
And don't kid yourself, no way in Hell is McCain ever going to appoint Hiliarly to the SCOTUS. Bet the rent.

From McCain's short list, Eric Cantor is a minority, young, energetic, well spoken, from a toss-up state and, most importantly, a principled conservative. I would pick him. Pawlenty is also better than Romney, but a boring pick.
Outside the short list, If he's going to go with an old white guy, I would pick Fred Thompson instead of Romney. Off the top of my head, other picks that would be better than Romney are Chris Cox, Mark Sanford, Haley Barbour, Sen. DeMint, Sen. Coburn, and Rep. Pence.
Very well thought out and said.
I'm a Palin fan, but Cantor would do just fine. They would both completely change the dynamics of this race and bring so much to the table for us.
Just about anyone but myth Romney and Huckleberry Fun.

Hey junior, I’ve been here long enough and earned the right to bitch about McCain and any other RINO that’s out there. If you don’t like it, tough.

Oh I get it. So you've sold your conservative soul to push a RINO for President and I'm the one who has the IQ of a hammer?
I'd rather see the knife coming at me with Obama (or Hillary) than the knife in my back from McCain.
Its fools like you've who've condemned the republican party to idiots like McCain. You have only YOURSELF to blame for the state we're in now.

I'd rather see the knife coming at me with Obama (or Hillary) than the knife in my back from McCain. IMHO, this is kind of like our support for President Bush in 04. We knew he was a RINO, but someone has to be Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces during this war. Right now the choice is Obama or McCain. I can guarantee Obama will stab our troops in the back. At least with McCain, our side has leverage through the party via $$. If we have someone we have at least slight leverage with, we can learn to flex our muscles again like we did with the amnesty bill. IMHO, if we use it correctly, it will make us stronger...
But that's just my opinion, take it or leave it.
