So if the Russians thought the massacre was “well-deserved”, why did they try to pin it on the Nazis?
I’m boiling mad about this, as I can imagine everyone in Poland should be.
Is Putin the new “whiskered one?”
I fear for these events of late; if we have another Carter in the White House the socialists will have another growth spurt.
Marxists must enter into every civil, cultural, and political activity in every nation, leavening them as yeast leavens bread. Antonio Gramsci, (1891-1937)

The post coldwar warming is officially over. Russian imperialism is back.
The Eastern Europeans need weapons and they need them now.
Let’s just say “Stalin was ... a murderer” and be done with it. Talk about starting off with a lie and going downhill from there. No one with a half a brain is going to buy this crap.
In other words, if true, the Putin regime has not turned back the clock to Khruschev's 1950's belligerent Soviet Union but to Stalin's 1930s genocidal Soviet Union.
How would Obama respond to this??????????
...and these are the people on whom we are relying to keep their “word” and withdraw from Georgia? Argh...

This is hard core Leninism. We are dominated by lawyers, bureaucrats, endless laws, and regulations, and surveillance cameras. We are not yet taken out in the middle of the night with our families and murdered.
Katyn was a symbol of the regime of Stalin and his murderous, perverse thug leader of the NKVD, Lavrenti Beria. Beria used to have his driver take him through the streets of Moscow to find young people he could defile sexually and murder.
Most of these ghastly crimes have been hidden for years. The NKVD was more creative than the SS when it came to murder. Hollywood will not even release an innocuous movie such as “The Inner Circle” onto DVD because they still reverence Stalin's mass murder machine.
That is what is being celebrated in Russia today, and it is frightening. The Katyn Massacre was a tragedy that has never been defended before. The Polish people in late 1939 had to deal with the equivalent of being ruled in the west by the Hillside Stranglers and in the east by the Night Stalker. Either direction brought death and horror.
Long live Poland.
I ready a story once that had the Soviets launch 20 ICBMs at the US and Europe, which were aimed at destroying our retaliation capability and at Washington (or some other major city). As they launched, they announced the attack and claimed that if we did not respond, that would be the end, but that if we did, then they’d fire the complete arsenal and effectively bring about the end of civilization. I think they mentioned that they’d done the analysis to say that their attack was carefully calculated to prevent nuclear winter, but that further detonations from a counter attack would send us over the brink. It was basically a “what if” that wondered what the US would do when faced with such a threat.
At this point, I wonder if Russia is moving in this direction. I mean, if they invaded Poland, what would we really do if they said, “leave us be or we nuke your top ten cities”?
How long until the defenders of Russian behavior find this thread to justify Katyn?
he would suggest we sit down and talk with them (without any preconditons)
I suppose they’re doing such things exactly to make us feel like that.
If I were in charge, I would propose negotiations, start evacuating our cities and then erase Russia for good.
If that blackmail were allowed to work once, it would never end.
