KBH is the most conservative person I've heard discussed as a realistic choice (she's to the right of Romney, especially economically). She's got a good handle on energy and would make Biden seem foolish in a debate.

She's pro-choice. No thanks!

Isn’t she another open borders RINO?

Is she pro-life?

KBH is a poor choice for VP and a bad choice for TX Governor. She would allow the borders to be open and would give in to amnesty. The status quo is for her. Poor choice.

No Slick Willard, no Pawlenty, no Kay ! Enough with these liberals, subpar RINOs or squishes.

We need a Conservative to be chosen, like Govs. Mark Sanford, Don Carcieri, Haley Barbour or an outside the box pick like General Petraeus.

How does she add excitment to the ticket?

Go for Palin or Jindal.

It does not surprise me that Micheal “Moral and Conservative Relativist” Medved would pen this bunch of drivel.

Lately some of those we trusted to communicate the conservative message have gone way off of the reservation.

Kay Bailey Hutchison is a Texan so she definitely knows first hand that low taxes, both personal and corporate, lead to economic success for the individual, business, and the State.

I was in error. I was thinking of Christine Todd Whitman who was confused last week with Meg Whitman as a potential VP choice. Christine Todd Whitman is pro-choice.

I sometimes confuse these two women.

For the love of God, stop all this Identity Politics.

She would never, ever be considered if she were not a woman.

We need the best qualified person who is ready to be POTUS on Jan 21, 2009.

Palin would be my first choice. Sweep up the suburban soccer moms nationwide and put drilling front and center.

If EVs are a problem, go with Jodi Rell from Conn. With Rell as VP and Lieberman as Sec of State, Conn turns Red. Obama would have a tough time making up the EVs if Conn. flips.

That being said, Palin far and away would be my first choice.

Here is Kay's voting record re OnTheIssues.org

Compare that to, say, Duncan Hunter who no one doubts his Conservative credentials..

She’s lousy on open borders and illegals. That’s enough for me.

Doesn’t anyone out there realize that the VP has to be ready and capable of assuming the office of President in an instant? VPs are chosen to attract a certain demographic, and the hell with anything else.

McCain is bad enough, I don’t want his replacement to be a pro illegal, also.

A believable woman running mate could easily pull in all of the disaffected Hillary supporters. It would be a winning move.

This Texan says not only no, but hell no!

{KBH's} Omnibus Bill Includes Border Fence-Gutting Amendment

An excerpt:

“The Hutchison amendment gives DHS virtually total discretion over how and where the fence is built,” says Grassfire.org President Steve Elliott. “In fact, DHS would not be required to build fencing in any particular location -- and the double-layer mandate is totally gone.”

I think the choice of the idiot Biden greatly expands McCain's options.

And, remember - between now and November, McCain's assignment is "just win, baby".

If picking a woman locks up the election, and there's a woman who could serve as President in a pinch, then I think he should do it, or at least think seriously about it.

KBH strikes me as a little old and a little underwhelming, but I defer to the Texas FReepers about that. I absolutely, positively agree with the plan to attack the Hillary base vote as hard as possible, though.

Jindal is very impressive, could end up being in the class of Reagan. Eric Cantor from Va. would also be a boost. Either of these men would do quite well against Biden, and would energize conservatives.
