The West Comes Unraveled (Georgia is the opening round)
FINANCIALSENSE.COM ^ | 08.22.2008 | J. R. Nyquist

While the Russians burn and pillage Georgian towns and villages, strangling Georgia’s economy to the point of collapse, the free world dithers. As one American analyst bitterly remarked, “The Europeans have telegraphed their total capitulation to Russia, and Moscow knows it. The Kremlin has looked into the soul of Europe and found – there is none.”

Interesting article by Nyquist on Russia, Georgia and the West's unwillingness to recognize reality.

When people refuse to defend their allies, they are willing to die themselves.

"The Kremlin has looked into the soul of Europe and found – there is none.”

The souls of Europe were sold down the river a long time ago by the Liberal EU morons who masquerade as World powers.

....and Obama wants to restore our standing in the world....

This does seem to me that when our allies are in trouble we now will do nothing to help. No one will want to be our friend if we sit back and watch them be annihilated.

You have a point. But our foreign policy seems to be based more on abstractions that we will back up only with words, than on what benefits the US interests and security.

Let’s see now how this goes. We keep surrounding Russia with closer and closer NATO bases and they feel threatened. Apparently they felt a pre-emptive strike in Georgia was in order. Time to loose those missiles in Poland on those terrorists before they get some WMD.

Europe is too busy finding ways to allow the islamanazis to murder and rape their women and children to be bothered. Whatever happens to them is of no concern of civilization. Countries that will take a stand should be welcome into a new alliance but NATO needs to be dissolved immediately.

But the Cold War never ended, Mr. Gates! The Russian side merely repeated the Soviet experiment of Lenin’s New Economic Policy. What Moscow did in the 1920s was accomplished on a larger scale in the 1990s. Do these America Sovietologists have any common sense whatsoever, or has the economic requirements of our commercial culture so overwhelmed strategic common sense that recognizing one’s enemy has become impossible for them?

Anatoli Golitsyn, a KGB defector, wrote about this in the 1980s in his books New Lies for Old and The Perestroika Deception.

Nyquist has been an advocate of this point of view (that USSR/Russia had a strategy of deception) for years.
