After the Barack Obama campaign announced early Saturday morning that Delaware senator Joseph Biden would fill out the Democratic presidential ticket, an army of merry rightwing photoshoppers went to work. One well-circulated manipulation of an Obama campaign graphic placed the two pols, both with broad smiles, in front of a cut-and-paste crowd. The headline: "Joe Biden: Old. White. Boring."

I heard this man on the radio this morning and he referred to his column and made the following comment "Republicans may soon feel not so much mauled by a vicious attack dog as gummed by a clown."

How about that an old white boring clown with hair plugs. After I heard that I new I had to track down this column.

I have a big, and only semi-relevant question... Anyone ever read the 12th Amendment to the US Constitution? Ever notice what it says about electing the President AND Vice President? No-where does it say that the presumptive nominee of a party "picks" the VP... At least not the way I read it...

The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;

That doesn't exactly match what I believe is done today... and while we are doing it basically as I remember from my whole life - that isn't what this amendment indicates is the appropriate method...

We have many things we do today that isn't covered in the Constitution. Where does it say the gubmint can own over 1/3 of the land in America? Where does it say we can be in the tree bidness? There is about 100 others, but you get the idea.

As a matter of fact some of the biggest sins are specifically forbidden by the Constitution, but done anyway. Babies should qualify as people with civil rights, guns are specifically addressed for ownership, etc.

It will take a revolution just to get BACK to the original intent.
