Obama is shedding his invincible shine, but it's still his election to lose.
Nominating a woman would change all that, and give McCain the edge. If he wants to seize the initiative away from Obama, this would be the way to do it. Give the fence riding Democratic women the revenge they crave. That's just good politics.
And please, spare me the 'I only want the best one for the job' argument. Since when has that ever happened for a VP? Cheney's the only VP in history that's really even had a job. The VP pick should be about balancing the ticket, and if gender has replaced regionalism, than so be it. A reasonably conservative/qualified woman does far more for McCain's chances of being elected than a reasonably conservative/qualified male from a swing state.

That’s what we need. 2 amnesty supporters on one ticket. If you’re gonna pick a woman for the sake of sex, at least pick a conservative one — how about Michelle Malkin?

You can be positive it will not be Kay. McCain is distancing himself from Bush, and that means anyone from TX would be included.

Two RINO's for the price of one...
Or has Ann given up on Amtrak, the Trans-Texas corridor, single payer healthcare, and "reasonable" gun control?

Although they are good conservatives and effective in their own spheres of influence, the Texas Breck Lady and the Alaska Lenscrafters Lady are backbenchers when it comes to stepping into Veep (and possibly President) shoes.
Neither will be nominated. It's time to pray that the dozen or so cheerleaders for these ladies will give us a blessed rest from what is a dead-end sidebar in the vice-presidential speculations.

She’s said she doesn’t want the job, and doesn’t seem the type to smile and shake hands and then rip an opponent’s throat out, like Biden.

Dick Morris has made a strong suggestion that McCain - who picks his running mate on Friday - should select Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison as his #2,
If Dick Morris is saying it then the chances are extremely large that it will never happen. Morris blows with the wind on each day and has no grounding imo.
KBH has repeatedly said she doesn’t want the VP position and wants to begin making plans to return to Texas after the elections this fall. She said that again in Texas last week on her Texas bus tour.
