Yes, I know she says she does not want to be vice president. Biden also said that. If offered she is not going to turn down the opportunity to make history. I know she will not be the first women running for vice president. But she will be the first QUALIFIED woman to do so. Geraldine Ferraro was the first one. But like Barack Obama, she was essentially an affirmative action choice. There can be no questioning of the first US female senator from the Texas, Kay Bailey Hutchison qualifications or her vote getting ability.

I like Mrs Palin, but I think she would get hammered by that arrogant jerk, Biden. She needs to use this convention as a chance to get known by the nation and come out in 2012(if McCain loses) and run. She’d have my vote in primaries.
Besides, she’ll still be looker by then too.
Kay Bailey walks a very fine line on abortion. But she is not pro-life and has been a very big advocate of embryonic stem cells.
She’s also too old and would not make a good President.
Condi Rice, on the other hand, could easily explain away her earlier remarks on abortion and would make a great President.
Still, I want John Cornyn or Tom Corbyn.
My advice to McCain: Go right, old man!
I’d be more than happy with Michael Steele.
What about the baby???????
The baby has down syndrome!!!!!!! The baby needs to be on a schedule and cannot be flown around the country. The baby needs to be nursed and cannot wait on important meetings. Since the baby has down syndrome, he will be in early intervention getting all kinds of therapy several times a week. Is Palin, going to fly the therapist around the country to give the baby his therapy.
In addition to the definite therapy (since he’s a high risk baby), 50% of down syndrome babies have heart problems. Some have hearing and eye problems.
At this point, no one knows how the baby will do. Some kids with down syndrome don’t have as many problems as others do. In 4 or 5 years, the Palins will have a much better idea of what is going on with the baby.
Who is Tom Corbyn??
I hope you are joking.
I could not nurse my babies, so I know formula is an option. However, formula is not the same is breast milk. Why would a mother sacrifice the health of her baby to be VP when she can wait a few years to the baby is older.
Here is one families experience with a down syndrome baby:

I have a special needs kid, one with brain damage.
It’s been very difficult on both my husband and I, and our daughter is very high functioning. She’s 11, has normal intelligence, is at grade level for reading/writing, and is above grade level in math. She does have terrible speech problems still, and this past year she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Still, she does not have the issues a down syndrome child will have.
I know that when my daughter was little, I had to stay at home. My husband could not travel because he was taking our son to school, and helping out in the evenings.
My husband has missed many work days because of IEP meetings (when we were in public school), doctors appointments, or staying home when I was sick.
It was also very hard on our marriage. We’ve survived, but it’s taken it’s toll.
The VP has to be prepared to be President, and I think Palin has way too much on her plate to handle being a mom to 4 kids, one being special needs.
That should have been “Coburn.” I was melding two men, I guess.
Barf
Actually, on my part, it was a trial balloon to gague the reaction. And the reaction is, “Bad idea, back to the drawing board.”
Yea , make history . So did Ferraro . Go Palin !
We dont make Margaret Thatchers here...yet.
I take it all back. Mr. McCain has managed to find a Margaret Thatcher. I am totally, absolutely, ecstatic over Mrs. Palin and if I could, I'd give Mr. McCain a huge hug. Bless him.
