Read a post called “How to buy a mansion you can’t afford”, it tells the entire story. This property was a single parcel for 80 years,
Obama and Rezko got the owner to split the parcel because Obama couldn’t afford it.
Michelle Obama found out about the property being for sale because she was on the Landmarks Commission in Chicago and Hyde Park is a Historic District.
The property was split in record time and both sales closed on the same day, which was a condition of the sale. (HOW CONNECTED IS THAT!)
If you look at the entire parcel you can see the part that Rezko’s wife bought for $625,000 is about 1/3 of the land and was NEVER worth $625,000. This was all done to allow Obama to get his Mansion.
Rezko was already in trouble at this time, it had been in the Papers for over a year that the FEDS were on Rezko, yet Barack and wife wanted this house and did business with a crook to get it. Rezko didn’t have the money for this deal so he was able to borrow $3.5 million from a middle-eastern billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, to make this happen.
They wanted to help a sitting U.S. Senator and possible President. This might not be CORRUPTION in Daleyville or Kwametown but it is everywhere else.
I posted an article about this from a blog a few months ago. It is the only time I have seen someone claim that the house and side lot were one until Michelle came along and finagled the division through her position on the Historic Preservation Board.
If this is true, the MSM is asleep/covering for them again.
I think I hear the the resko part of the lot was unusable, and had no access without the Obama part?

The Rezko portion is only accessible through the Obama portion , you are correct ... The lot is surrounded by wrought iron fencing , the only gate is on the path to the mansions front door.
Yes, there is no access except through the Obama property. So it’s perfectly obvious that this was a favor to the Obamas and nothing more.
I have seen a quote that Rezko was planning to do something with it. Obvious BS, unless he was going to use his “contacts” to get his own entrance.
That’s the long version and everything is laid out there from a Chicago point of view. The writer knew the scamming and fiddling that was done to make that house the Obama mansion
When Obama bought 1/6th of the land off Rezko. That bit of land was accessed at around $40000, total value $240000. Rezko paid $625000 for it.
Looks like for real reporting we're left with the National Enquirer.
Obama was feeding Rezko state funds to rebuild slums in Chicago and Rezko was defaulting left and right but, he was still getting paid for work he had not done.
He and Obama are guilty of corruption and Obama should be on the FBI most wanted list.
Well of course they were a single parcel. The whole lot has a fence around it and the only way to access the side lot is through the Obama's gated front yard. Rezko's sister bought the "garden" plot and allowed it to be subdivided such that there can be nothing constructed on it by any subsequent owner. Thus, driving the value of said lot to practically zero. If the garden lot were to come up for sale...why would a sane person buy such a plot if the potential for new construction is zero? They wouldn't. In the future, that garden parcel will belong to Obama, by hook or by crook.
I’d buy it to erect a George W. Bush Iraq War on Terror memorial statue.
And the portion that Obama bought off Rezko made the second lot totally unsuitable for building another house. Somehow, the MSM has used this point to make the deal more legitimate.

However the 10 ft wide land swap reduced the corner lot width to 30 ft.... sort of unusable for a mansion...:^)
