Freep this...news article? (Bidenbama cheerleading)
Yahoo News / Time ^

Posted on 08/23/2008 3:36:23 PM PDT by BobbyT

I wouldn't post this if it were just run of the mill bias, but it was on the front page of Yahoo with all the real news, with the title "Biden gives ticket decades of foreign policy experience".

The rest is pure cheerleading...the author doesn't even pretend to give the usual lip service to the other side of any point. He actually uses the word "moderate" to describe Biden's voting record, and the descriptions he makes throughout are a joke.

The Yahoo/AP combo results in a lot of junk opinion mixed in with the "news" on one of the most visited web pages in the world, but now apparently they don't even bother making sure the distinction is made (they have a separate Opinions & Editorials section on their news page, but this article was the first one listed under Top Stories).

I figure the least we can do is 1-star it (at the bottom, no login required).

I saw the exact same headline. I, too, wanted to barf. If that’s not a campaign press release, I don’t know what is.

This is a classic example of how AP is dangerous. Even with the lost influence and readership of the print media, AP still distributes news to widely used platforms such as Yahoo, Google, and AOL. You can say what you want to about the leadership of those companies, but they have a lot of reach and influence over average Americans.

If every newspaper in America folded, AP would still exist to provide news feeds to outfits like Yahoo.

Someone at AP didn’t get the talking points memo.

Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence

DENVER - The candidate of change went with the status quo.

In picking Sen. Joe Biden, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness — inexperience in office and on foreign policy.

He may be right when you compare him to His O'lyness.

Oh crap, must not have seen a login requirement cause of my yahoo email account. Sorry guys.

Anyway, ridiculous on multiple levels. What put me over the top was when I went to Yahoo’s news page and they had a separate section for ops & eds, but instead put this as #1 under the top news stories.

As great as the slow decay of the mainstream media is, 90% of people who’ve turned away from the papers are still getting 90% of their news from whatever’s on the home page of Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Google.
