NATO aid a 'cover' for navy build-up

A TOP Russian general accused NATO of using humanitarian aid deliveries to Georgia as "cover" for a build-up of naval forces in the Black Sea.

"Under the cover of needing to deliver humanitarian goods, NATO countries continue to boost their naval grouping," Anatoly Nogovitsyn, deputy chief of general staff, said.

"In addition to the Spanish and German frigates that entered the Black Sea basin on August 21, yesterday a Polish frigate and a destroyer of the US navy passed the Bosphorous," he said.

"I don't think that this will help stabilise the situation in the region."

That is the Russian view, in my own view, a three day campaign of HARM missile launches coupled with airstrikes on fixed Russian positions inside Georgia proper would help to stabilize the situation much more....efficiently....

Like "peacekeepers" is just cover for "invasion."

"I don't think that this will help stabilise the situation in the region."

And what Russia has done is, of course, amazingly helpful to stabilize the region.

I don’t believe attacking Russian army troops that refuse to withdraw per the cease-fire they have ‘signed’; will start WWIII. If anything it will stop the Russians from running over the rest of the Liberated countries.

And ENSURE THEY WITHDRAW.

Perhaps a low tech approach would be better...

Every day or two a sniper shoots a Russian solider, the higher ranked the better. Maybe a few IEDs in the road between them and their lines just to mix tings up. The Georgians are mad enough to do it, and given the terrain, it would be very hard to defend against.

Duuuhhhhhh.... They can’t even pull back from humiliating themselves. a little more each day

The only thing that will free the Russian people from this ongoing, neverending, always worsening humiliation is REGIME CHANGE.

The Red Army thinks nothing of reprisals against civilians Starwolf...and I do mean nothing...posion wells, kill entire villages, burn crops...the whole shebang.

Now if one is a “true” Revolutionary (in the way that Obamao’s mentors are..Ayers especially) then such reprisals only fuel THE CAUSE...meaning the scant survivors join the rebels to kill Russians, as has been said “Everytime they shoot, the Revolution Grows”

I’d prefer not to see that happen in Georgia Starwolf, seriously, once that stuff sinks into the mindset, it takes generations to end it.

While the Red Army has a history of that, given the international presence that is building up, wholesale reprisals are not possible. It doesn't need to be a lot, just a few now and then, and only on undisputed Georgian territory. Another alternative is an armed blockade of the Red Army units, which is much more risky.
