Biden: A HUGE Mistake by Obama
Pajamas Media ^ | August 22, 2008 | Ron Rosenbaum

But a huge mistake by Obama in choosing a self-important clown for vice president, a choice that is the gift that will keep on giving to his opponent throughout the rest of the election. Biden has proven himself incapable of opening his mouth without making you cringe at his self-congratulatory pretentiousness.

But why?....

re: He represented Delaware for three decades witout knowing enough about its history to know it wasn’t a former slave state! )))

I keep seeing this bandied about. Weren't there slaves in Delaware when the Emancipation Proc of 1865 was passed? And isn't Delaware below the Mason Dixon?

Biden knows all of McCain’s Senate secrets.

Probably, the goal is to make McCain act crazy.

They are going for the win.

The candidate of change picks a guy who's served 35 years in the senate.

The candidate of opposition to the Iraq war picks someone who supported it.

Obama is totally clueless.

I'll let Joe Biden sum up Obama: 'I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is.' I agree, except for the "can be" part.

Oh I agree. Mix arrogance and pretentiousness and you've got the perfect Democratic ticket. All I can say is, they truly deserve each other!

The choice of Biden allows McLame to move FURTHER left. Something hardly worth celebrating.

> But a huge mistake by Obama ...

The guy is an empty suit aiming for a position which
requires eventful decision making. He’s getting “advice”
from all sorts of special interests, who all have their
own agendas (not all consistent with whatever goals BHO
himself might have).

This is only one of many poor decisions that BHO can
be relied on to make. He has no way of determining
which advice to follow.

Of course, I have little confidence that “The Maverick” (TM)
will be any smarter on VP pick, but that’s for different
reasons.

The Mason-Dixon line is the boundary not only between Maryland and Pennsylvania, but also between Maryland and Delaware. During the colonial period "the three lower counties on Delaware" were closely linked to Pennsylvania, but obviously were treated as a separate colony during the American Revolution.

Delaware had slaves at the time of the Civil War, although they were outnumbered by the "free persons of color" in the state. It was one of two states (the other being Kentucky) where slavery was not ended until the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment in Dec. 1865. (Whether slaveowners were actually able to get their slaves to work for them during the interval between the end of the Civil War and December 1865 is another question.)

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Of course there was slaves in Delaware. Dunno why the guy would imply that it wasn’t a slave state.

It’s true that Biden is a gasbag and a lightweight, but it’s another case of the Democrats having a VP choice who’s more qualified than their Presidential nominee...like in 1960 (Kennedy and Johnson), 1988 (Dukakis and Bentsen), and 2000 (Gore and Lieberman).

That’s going too far in thinking...

They chose Biden for Only one of TWO Reasons.

1) Everybody else said NO...

2) Biden is ADORED by the media because he’s a rock-thrower, and the media LOVES DEMOCRAT rock-throwers. Republican Rock-throwers are called “Divise” and “Hateful” ny that same adoring media, though..

If McCain has the stones to pick somebody like Boehner, Pence, or PALIN, instead of who the media is TELLING him to pick, like Romney, this could turn in to a REAL ROUT, very fast...

What this is all about is a Obamao version of “Anyone but Hillary”, Biden is her substitute on the ticket, she would have been the strategic and tactical “best choice”.

Obamao could not bring himself to do it, the inside DC Elites needed an Old Guard bone tossed to them, and if it wasn’t Hilde, it would have to be Biden.

The Old Guard Dhimmis do not want another lost war hung on their resume...
