Texas billionaire Harold Simmons, who helped pay for the devastating attacks on the military record of Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry in 2004, has paid for a television ad that assails Barack Obama over his ties to a founder of a violent radical group.
Simmons, who is also a major fundraiser for John McCain, donated $2.87 million that a newly formed nonprofit group, the American Issues Project, has used for the ad, a report filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission shows.
The 60-second ad opens with Obama giving a speech, then asks how much voters know about him.

The fact they prominently menion he is a billionaire means NOTHING. The ad is true, and Obama is in a panic. The letters to TV stations are full of lies and whines.
They [Obama attorneys] say the ad is "demonstrably false" and labeled it a "crude, disreputable and malicious attempt to link Sen. Obama to domestic terrorist activities."
There is nothing in the ad that links Obama to terrorist activities. There is, however, substantial reason in his own record (such as it is) to link him to Ayers, a domestic terrorist.
Parse the title folks.
The implication is that without this ad there would be no link. Typical leftist reasoning. If no one is allowed to talk about it, it will not exist.
So, the LATimes is furious because Simmonds has funded ads that reveal the truth?
Not supposed to question the media lies?
It looks like they were in such a hysterical state they misfeed the paper into the printer so they could rush-fax it to stop the ad. They are DESPARATE. It is a devastating ad.
Leftists still haven’t changed since Arthur Koestler wrote “Darkness at Noon”.

We know that Ayers started Obama's political career, and is very influential in Chicago politics. What hasn't been really examined is HOW and WHY he's influential
The HOW and WHY is his dad Thomas G Ayers (1915-2007). Tom Ayers was President of Commonwealth Edison from 1964, and was chairman and CEO from 1973 to 1980. Besides that:

"Beyond what he did at Commonwealth Edison, he really set an example for other leaders in the Chicagoland business community to follow."Bill Ayers' dad was a primary mover and shaker in Chicago politics, with strong ties to the Daley machine. After the Board of Education's financial collapse of 1979, Mayor Jane M. Byrne named Mr. Ayers as her choice for president of the new board.
He was the Chicago establishment, serving on the boards of Sears, G.D. Searle, Chicago Pacific Corp., Zenith Corp., Northwest Industries, General Dynamics Corp. of St. Louis, First National Bank of Chicago, the Chicago Cubs and the Tribune Co.Mr. Ayers also was an agent for change, negotiating between Mayor Richard J. Daley's administration and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s open housing campaign in the mid-1960s, and developing the Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open Communities to fight racial discrimination in housing.

I meant that the network powers-that-be who accept/decline paid advertising declined the ad. That always gives a boost for freebies. But the corporate decision was NO.
