The candidate of change went with the status quo.
In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness inexperience in office and on foreign policy rather than underscore his strength as a new-generation candidate defying political conventions.

My analysis: Biden is the worst possible pick. My prediction: Obama-Biden is doomed from the start.
in retrospect, if everyone else said no, who is left?
I think Nobama picked Biden because he flattered him by saying he was clean and articulate.
I don’t know that I agree with that sentiment, however things just got a whole lot more interesting.
Dan Quayle’s reputation for gaffes is just about to be eclipsed.
Biden will be the Michael Phelps to Quayle’s Mark Spitz.
Bye Biden... Mr. Obama!
My take: Obama had trouble finding a candidate.
Is it now OK to post AP articles? I hope so, a lot of AP BS needs to be discussed! ;-)
The rat's dream team of hate America and capitalism, the Islamofascist Liar and White Honky Plagiarist, or Karl Rove strikes again:
doh.. i should have said “2012” instead of “2010”..
Three Senators from the worst Congress in our lifeime = tsk, tsk!!
Pray that McCain chooses someone not in Congress.
You said it correct.
As bad and ugly and disgusting as it really is, Hillary will begin her campaign in 2010
It is nice to see that Obama can make a decision, although he did have to pick somebody eventually.
I think John Edwards was his first pick, but when he was exposed as the scum bag he is, Obama was left to pick Biden because the rest were State Governors with no forgin policy experience at all
Trying to compensate for his lack of experience.
Tim Pawlenty is not my first choice, I like Sarah Palin, but he would be a perfect counter to Loud Mouth Lying Joe. Pawlenty is mild mannered, bright, articulate and very accomodating, everything Joe isn’t. If McCain doesn’t choose Palin he should pick Pawlenty.
Obama hasn’t been nominated yet.
If the Dims go into convention doubting Obama seriously enough, the Supers could turn back to Clinton.
That would be almost as embarrassing for Obama as losing the election in November. Can you imagine? He’s picked his VP already, and then doesn’t even get the nomination. Wow!
What a GIFT Obama gave us over night.
The left has been critical of Cheney all these years saying it was running the country and Bush’s whipping boy.
WOO HOO...... no change in Washington. The change candidate just dug his hole.
