Young men who attained the age of consent in the years of 1974 - (I think)) 1981 were not required to register for the draft.

He was bor in ‘51. That means he turned 18 in ‘69 and he was in college for a couple of years of draft eligibility—He graduated with his bachelors in ‘74 and the draft ended in ‘73.
