Pelosi censors poster of troops
Bruce Fein
Friday, August 22, 2008
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-S.F., has done something worse than commit a crime against the First Amendment. The speaker's censorship of nonobtrusive posters featuring men and women who gave that last full measure of devotion in service to their country is a blunder that could alienate 23 million veterans and their families from the Democratic Party. If she is endowed with a crumb of constitutional or political sense, she will reverse course.
The tale of Pelosi's folly begins with Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C. He wished to pay tribute to the service members of Camp Lejeune who had been killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Accordingly, Walter placed a poster flat against the wall in the corridor outside his office showing their names and pictures.

Sometimes the close captioning will help on FNC
I notice some info or comment better
Hard though when you depend upon it because when they cut to a commercial they don’t continue showing the last words that were said!!

My text comes up on a black BG with a slight delay
Words are often weird as the software reads phonetically -
But not on ads as you said
Some of the news channels are now intractive so I can bring up an earlier new story that was broadcast earlier by clicking on a menu at a 2nd Channel number
Pretty slick stuff - Cable TIVO

Yes, you do have a form of TIVO! That’s neat.

Optimum also has a fiber-optic TVS option (DVD on demand) for newly released movies

Jones drives me nuts, parading around like a conservative.

Glad I read that early in the day - to avoid nightmares, lol.
ROTF! I should have thought about that a bit more before posting.
I never looked at your homepage before now...
did you get any of that White Christmas in ‘04? The one that started in Victoria, traveled east across the Gulf Coast, and then turned to travel up the East Coast?
It was in the National news. Something I'll never forget as we seldom have snow and getting it on Christmas was fantastic!
I asked, and boy, did He deliver. Beyond my wildest imagination.
Seriously. I had a specific and special reason for the request. I began praying three days before Christmas. My family ALL blew me off.
I kept my faith (and my eye on the radar).
You could have heard a pin drop when I told them what was going on in Victoria! (We once lived in Houston.) I will never forget the moment I saw it on the radar. All night long I tracked it.
And all night long, as I announced the latest...they all just bit their tongues. LOL.
♥
[Yeah, that was me and God ; ) ]
I wish it was easier to find old posts. If you think about it a bit you will recall that you and I had a conversation about the snow that Christmas!!
And, I do know that you gave me your reason at the time. Interesting, huh? 4 years almost, hard to believe!
I wish it was easier to find them, too. Must be the onset of CRS here.
I thought I had talked to somebody in Victoria, just didn’t realize it was you, I guess, even though your house sure looked familiar. I just thought I was having a deja vu’.
Ah, well, it was a magical time.
(Maybe you’ve changed your homepage? I love it. Please tell me you did...LOL!)

LOL!
Pelosi and Murtha - MADE FOR EACH OTHER!! LOL
[(Maybe youve changed your homepage? I love it. Please tell me you did...LOL!)]
I’ve made a lot of changes in 4 years on my Profile. But I did post that picture at the time so that’s when you saw it.
OK, I know that the "D" stands for either "dumb" or "democrat" (I know, redundant), but I can only guess what the "S.F." stands for and it ain't purty.
I can use the 4 years as an excuse, right? LOL!
