Eisenhower Leaves Republican Party

Writing for the National Interest online, an internal Republican Party publication, Susan Eisenhower made the announcement.
Instead she will be an independent because she said: "The GOP (Republican party) of today bears no resemblance to Lincoln, (Teddy) Roosevelt or Eisenhower's Party, or many of the other Republican administrations that came after that."
She said "My decision came at the end of last week when it was demonstrated to the nation that McCain and this Bush White House have learned little in the last five years.

The end of last week? As in Friday? She should have waited until Saturday night, and made her decision AFTER McCain's performance.
So what. My grandfather was a democrat. I’m not. Is that really a news story?

Take a look at Ms. Eisenhower’s campaign contribution records. Zip contributions to Republicans on the FEC database. But conributions to Obama. I’m sorta curious how she calls herself a Republican....
Ike wasn’t sure if he was a republican or a democrat and was
being courted by both parties to run in 52 and he had a hard time making the decision..

Good riddance. If she were honest, she’d just register as a Democrat and get it over with. She pro-abortion, pro-big taxes. Get out of our party and stay out.
Ike himself was barely a Republican. He was an independent until 1952.
He gave us the gift of Earl Warren, a gift that keeps on giving.
and Lieberman is joining the Republican Party....it all evens out.
