This is not a good development.

With all of the Russia/Georgia/Iran stuff going on, you have to begin speculating the Russia/Iran coalition beginning to be formalized. Getting their pieces and players in place in preparation for a future US troop withdrawal...It will be interesting to see who comes in to replace Sistani. I hope it’s not who I think it will be...I hope the Iraq population sees through this and prevents it...otherwise a Russia, Iran, Iraq, and a heavily influenced/pressured Saudi Arabia alliance will choke our/European supply.

How’s the conversion of switchgrass to ethanol thingy coming along? Still 5-10 years away???

Prayers for his health. I don’t suspect poisoning. Sistani is a very old and frail man.

sounds like a stroke or aneurysm if true. I have no insight on a successory but whoever it would be will not be any better than what we’ve seen from that country in my time.

My thoughts exactly.

It was probably made by Putin - left over from the batch used in Ukraine on their President.

Just the same thing. He's down in Najaf, so I don't hear anything other than what the news or the Iraqis tell me.

I just hope this news doesn't energize that fat little Sadr creep.

Thanks.

I keep thinking Sadr is just simmering on the back burner...though it appears he’s given up. Not a good time for this in big picture terms.

"though it appears he’s given up."

Tyrants rarely give up. They just sit and wait for a time to strike.
