Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will be in Nevada next week to campaign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain, according to Republican announcements.
Romney, a one-time competitor with McCain for the GOP nomination who overwhelmingly won the Nevada Republican caucuses in January, will hold a rally for McCain at the Henderson Pavilion at 4 p.m. Wednesday, the campaign announced in an e-mail. Romney is considered a top contender for McCain's vice presidential selection, which McCain is not expected to announce until late next week.
Prior to the rally, Romney will host a $1,000-per-person fundraiser for the Nevada Republican Party at Panevino Ristorante.
Romney, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be visiting Nevada while Democrats hold their national convention in Denver. Romney is scheduled to stop in Denver on Tuesday to deliver an opposition view of the convention events, The Associated Press reported.
02. McCain expected to announce VP pick "late" next week.
Hmmmmm...
Romney soundly beat McCain in the Nevada caucus.Johnny came in third.
You might be right. Romney would make a superb treasury secretary.
I would embrace a Romney VP - a position where he can do more to reduce size and waste of fed govt and begin implementing conservative tax policies.
I honestly would prefer someone else for VP. Let’s remember that Romney is late to the conservative camp and has not been able to prove his credentials in anything other than words.
McCain could really prove he is serious about extending an olive branch to conservatives with a solid, proven conservative pick.
If McCain picks RINO Romney for ANYTHING, then
he ONLY reaches out to RINOs and will lose the election.
Sen.McCain’s choice.
Soooo...if what you say is true then Rush, Sean Hannity, and Ann Coulter are all Rino's because they have all said they either prefer Romney or would be enthused about Romney as VP.
