They see us a weak and wavering. The Russians are counting on the general public here in the US to scream “NO!” when it comes down to a real fight. They’ll use the ‘Rats and the MSM to tell Americans that it isn’t worth losing any US interests over Gdansk or Krakow.

if this is true, then we are literally the stupidest country ever to grace the earth with its presence. in other words, i doubt we are that outmatched.

I hope standing up for the lunitic who runs Georgia is all worth it. Future analysts may point to this time and wonder what the USA was thinking.

Tactical nukes...something to be used only after strategic nukes are on the table.

Until then, a non-issue.

Russian nuclear threat? No Problem. I am sure Europe's ‘soft power’ is up to handling it. /sarc

We can absorb a Russian first strike, then wipe them out. Of course, it’s better if we hit Russia with our first strike.

As in the Cold War, nuclear weapons are central to the Russian geopolitical calculus. "The weak are not loved and not heard, they are insulted, and when we have [nuclear] parity they will talk to us in a different way." These words are not from the dark days of communist yore. Rather, they were uttered last year by Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov

Putin and his lackeys are talking trash like years of old.

Tactical nukes are of little to no strategic value (by definition), and if it comes around that anyone has occasion to use those, the world is pretty much over anyway.

This article doesnt seem very well thought out.

The Soviets used “hearts and minds” very successfully many times all over the world, most notably in the Peacenik 60s Vietnam era in America and all over Western Europe, especially in the BRD (West Germany), during the Cold War. Young Germans believed that there were two superpowers: the evil USA, and the benign USSR. Socialism and the Greens were glorified. I was there at the time. Only Reagan set them straight. They all laughed at him and admired Gorby UNTIL THE WALL CAME DOWN.

Many young people in the USA today have skulls of mush and definitely believe in their “alternative truths,” you know, Cheney is the devil and all. They are probably easier targets today than the hippies of the 60s were.

Wonderful insanity!
If I remember right George Bush Sr. went wacko peacenik and started reducing nuclear arsenals. Then traitor Bill Clinton rolled into town with loony peacenik Madelaine Albright who despised the idea of a “unipolar world” where only the USA was a superpower

Clinton also made Los Alamos into an “open campus” with foreign scientists roaming around. Russian & Chinese included
