The McCain List.
John McCain's repsonse to Obama's whine yesterday about not acknowledging his patriotism.

Honestly...how do you question the patriotism of a man who has none?

Yes. I was going to answer your earlier post, but I agree with this one, pulling out of Iraq when victory is in sight. McCain’s statement is politically smart. He is tearing a stripe off Obama for being naive and stupid. But many people, as we see in the replies on this thread, will say, “Well, actually, I think Obama is dumb AND unpatriotic.”
Of course, he is. But no need for McCain to say it openly. Even as he seems to exonerate Obama from the charge of not being a patriot, he is raising the topic once again, and keeping it alive in people’s minds.
The same thing happened to Jean Kerri. He made the big mistake of running as a Vietnam veteran. As a result, he opened many cans of worms that he would have been wiser not to touch.
Obama is dumb for even raising the issue and for screaming, “Don’t question my patriotism!”
Because while McCain says, “Oh, no, of course not, I wouldn’t do that,” he is keeping the issue on the front burner and making everyone wonder about it. Gee, maybe pulling out of Iraq and declaring defeat when you’re doing very well IS a dumb move!

Obama is remarkably thin-skinned .... McCain is using it to full effect Indeed. As Mr. P. J. O'Rourke once put it, "Age and Guile Beat Youth, Innocence, and a Bad Haircut."
As has been pointed out by various folks, the big difference between McCain and Obama is in life experiences. McCain has seen and experienced things that most of us simply cannot imagine. And his long experience with playing hard-ball national politics gives him a tremendous advantage.
I would be very surprised if Obama's petty complaints had any more effect than to amuse McCain.... This response is just one of (hopefully) many more to come.

With Obama tanking, you have to wonder how his handlers plan on keeping Michelle’s militant side under control.

I have to admire the way McCain has been playing the game in the last month of so. If the Bush White House would have done half of this since the beginning of his second term with the Rats and the Drive Bys, perhaps his approval would be in the 40’s or 50’s. The Drive Bys and the Rats don't understand that some of us don't approve of the job he's done because he has not fought back.

I bet that every enemy of the United States of America wants Obama to be president of the United States of America.
That ought to be a clue.
As others have pointed out, Obama's patriotism is that of the liberal; to wit, criticism of the U.S. of A. is the highest patriotism because by finding and fixing "problems" America can become a great country. Thus Obama can claim to be a "patriot."
In Germany he acknowledged the evil doings of America but, as I interpreted his remarks, declared that he still loved the bitch and intended to make Her into a great country.

LOl....not to worry, Ron. We all KNOW it....but you are right...with today’s media...it HAS to be stated that way. Personally, I am convinced that Obama is not patriotic and has NO real understanding of evil in this world.

Most excellent however I do question his lack of patriotism You and I both question Obama's patriotism, and probably in private McCain does too. But he can't even imply that in public. However, he can point out the public policy positions that make no sense, and let American voters draw their own conclusions.

“Obama is remarkably thin-skinned for a Presidential candidate”
I was very surprised several months ago when Obama complained about comments making fun of his ears. I couldn’t believe that this guy was running for President and was not prepared for cartoonists and impressionists making fun of everything about him, especially any eccentricities of speech or appearance.
No President has ever been spared from ridicule over his appearance or his speech. Is it possible that he expected to be the very first President of the United States to be given an exemption from public ridicule?

It would appear the junior senator is having a bit of a problem in recent days. Perhaps he should arrange for some more over seas trips where he can preach to the audience that are all smoked up after the rock bands leave the platform.
He may find a real welcome crowd if he where to schedule events in say Moscow, Beijing, Pyongyang, Tehran, or say Damascus. Or if he really wants to impress folks that he is conscience of wasting jet fuel he could say go to Havana or Caracas.
