SHOWDOWN: RUSSIA VOWS SHIELD RESPONSE BEYOND DIPLOMACY
Breaking news - just headline.
McCain aside, I’d rather see HRC as president if we had to have a Dim.
At least she would be willing to butt heads with Putin.
we have enough
So what? This was expected. The bottom line is that Vlad is playing poker with us right now, and he is trying to buy the pot with his increased belligerence. We should call. If he is foolish enough to go all in and fight us, he is going to lose 100%. He has no chance to win. I sure hope that it doesn’t come to that, but they have much more to lose than we do.
“Think of it this way.. This Is WWII, and we dont have to take France because we already have it. Yes. Iran will need to be smashed. but so did most of Europe During WWII.”
Exactly, I believe that has been the purpose of Iraq from the beginning.
“...Poland is 115 miles from Russia, Cuba is 90 miles from the Florida. Guess how Russia will respond.”
And if we put offensive missiles in Poland, they would have a point.
I’ve been mulling over that too : Who would be more of a disaster for the USA, HRC or BHO? I am inclined to agree with you-BUT I have to wonder whether other countries would be more inclined to brinksmanship against the US, based on their ideas of female incapacity. IOW, would moslem countries view a HRC presidency as at least as much of a sign of incipient surrender as they would a BHO presidency? My hope is that this campaign destroys the future ambitions of both BHO and HRC.
I couldn’t prove it but I suspect they’ve been there all along.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Tell me, what battles did we fight in Iraq today? How many soldiers are committed to battle right now? We have 100,000+ military on the ground there, and the country has stabilized. We can easily commit some of those troops to a fight with Russia if need be.
Unfortunately, a war between us and Russia will not involve soldiers. It will involve satellites, computers, rockets and brinksmanship. We have the winning hand but I hope they back down without us having to play it.
The major problem here is that we don’t have any significant excess land forces available. In World War II, something like 10 million Americans served in the military. In the last five years, I highly doubt any more than 2 million Americans have served in the military, active duty. If World War III happens, we are quite certainly going to need a draft. That said, I don’t want to serve with drafted soldiers. Our all-volunteer military, while a great success, is far too small to fight the whole world at once.
So you’re talking a real world war not, just a couple or 3 continents?
Since we don’t have a military to cover all those bases, (figuratively) I’m guessing it will go nuclear pretty quickly?
I can take in a couple refugees should the need arise so that they don’t have to go hat in hand to those filthy ancestors of mine in Germany.
I’m not sure the West has the stomach for such an encounter...NATO’s weak response to Afghanistan is just one example. America has a serious lunacy problem called the Democrat Party and it will side with any enemy of the US. Dems will adopt the line that we provoked this confrontation in order to muddy the minds of the America public.
Well it would be a fatal response for Cuba, I don’t think they are made of the same “stuff” as the Poles!
I was looking around on YouTube last night and saw much the same... at least 75% of what comes up by searching “Georgia war” is pro-Russian propaganda blaming Georgia, or blaming the US for manipulating Georgia. Pro-Georgia and even posts by Georgians are also being spammed with Russian propaganda in the comments. They are working overtime trying to spin what is going on to the internet audience.
Wrong, the Democrats do not control the Executive branch right now. In a confrontation like this, that’s all that matters.
That is what I’m talking.. That is why we have allies..
dont think Europe and the U.S. would be too thrilled if Russia turns of the tap . . . that could be a red line
~~~
Nobody will be thrilled if those pipelines are shutdown,,,
Red line,,,I don’t know,,,
IIRC,,,those pipelines in Georgia(area)carried about 10%
of Europe’s oil,,,(shut down now ?),,,
(countin’ on fingers),,,
That makes up about 50% ,or so,of Europe’s oil and gas ?
I wonder how much FOOD Russia imports ?...;0)mmmmmmmm?
If a real world wide war ensues, I hope it happens before the elections. Bush could stay on indefinitely.
This is not good.....
