This is all good news. If they go with Barack Hussein Obama it looks like they will lose. If they go with Hillary they anger the Black vote and they cannot win if those people don’t show up in large numbers which they very well might not if their hero is not the nominee.

But it is only August. And while I have been somewhat impressed by the way McCain is handling things over the past 30 days I also know that - if anyone can - McCain can blow this whole thing with some incredibly stupid move (like picking a pro-abortion running mate).

Reportedly the Democratic convention is going to go heavy on bashing McCain...we’ll see if that has an impact. Of course a large part of the population won’t even watch.

McCain’s already said he won’t pick a pro-abortion VP.

He said he “got the message”

Frank Luntz was on TV this morning and he said that is a HORRIBLE idea.

He says people need some reason to vote for Obama.. and he hasn’t given it to them yet.

Kerry’s convention was one of those “nice” conventions where he didn’t attack President Bush (so I’ve heard) and Kerry came close to winning.

Barack needs to pick a black woman as his running mate, to placate the Hillary supporters while not angering his black supports. There are several obvious candidates—Cynthia McKinney, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Barbara Lee, Angela Davis, Maxine Waters, Hazel O’Leary, Oprah Winfrey...

Hillary doesn’t want to be the VP.

It’s a powerless job and it would guarantee she never became President.

...not if she performs a little “Vincent Foster” magic.

I missed Luntz...that's an interesting comment.

I see a lot of Obama attacking McCain for supposedly being "negative." Obama's "new politics" means that he can go negative all the time, but it's an outrage if an opponent says anything negative about him.

"McCain is going to bury the arab."

Looks like the Muslim militant is going down.  I knew he would, just wondered when.

Yeah, but it will convince all of his already committed moonbats to pull on the lever even harder when they vote for Obama.

"The so-called "Bradley effect" was a myth created by the media."

Except this effect was noticed in more then one race.

"Other races which have been cited as possible demonstrations of the Bradley effect include the 1983 race for Mayor of Chicago, the 1988 Democratic primary race in Wisconsin for President of the United States, and the 1989 race for Mayor of New York City.[8][11][12]

The 1983 race in Chicago featured black candidate Harold Washington running against white candidate Bernard Epton. More so than the California governor's race the year before,[13] the Washington-Epton matchup evinced strong and overt racial overtones throughout the campaign.[14][15] Two polls conducted approximately two weeks before the election showed Washington with a 14-point lead in the race. A third conducted just three days before the election confirmed Washington continuing to hold a lead of 14 points. But in the election's final results, Washington won by less than four points.[8]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect

Fine, I don’t know about those races. But it wasn’t what did Tom Bradley in.

They will go heavy on bashing McCain, then McCain will get up at the Republican convention and look statesmanlike, and people will remember what it is about the far left of the Democratic party that looks so childish and it will end up being a net positive for McCain.

How can you know there was no Bradley Effect?

“The so-called “Bradley effect” was a myth created by the media. Bradley lost because of handgun ban on the ballot ...”

Interesting.
Bush at the end of 2000 lost about 2 points, probably due to the DUI story. Lots of times there is a late shift in polls. A Bush effect?

There is also the ‘pollaganda effect’ where publicized polls are biased for the Dems and inflate leads. Clinton v Dole had those kind of leads in polls.

I agree, it IS a horrible idea. McCain is a known quantity and it is harder to go negative on him.
If this is a negative campaign Obama loses, he has a lot more skeletons to hide.

Obama needs to seal the ‘change’ message ... PROBLEM: HE IS TOO LIBERAL. His change is tax the rich, more spending, nationalized health insurance, be nice to despots, and let gays be openly in the military.

Want that? Most Americans will go ... NOPE!

Exactly.

For example.. Obama says he’d meet with Castro without any preconditions.

How do you think that makes Cubans in Florida feel?

Angry... yes

yeah. Too bad, though, the presidential election isn’t determined by a single, national vote. You have to look at that pesky electoral college thing.

" McCain’s already said he won’t pick a pro-abortion VP. "
" He said he “got the message” "

Well, that leaves Nit Wit Romney out, and Tommy Ridge out.
I hope McCain either picks Eric Cantor, or Fred Thompson.
