I agree with you BamaDi. I don’t think McCain ever seriously entertained a pro-choice VP. Just because the media speculated about it all over the place, doesn’t make it so. I think McCain is serious about pro-life and knows darn well that a VP can always become a P and a pro-choice possibility just would not happen on his watch. Now, on border and economic and drilling issues, I believe he needs the 2x4, but not on life matters.

That would be Sara Palin in Alaska.

Condi is pro-choice. Think we could live with that?

Condi’s resume is impressive and I’d be willing to bet she would be a good VP. I do wish she had more experience in the private sector as a business leader.

Between this and Saddlebrook, I must say, McCain is starting to look like a winner. No more compassionate conservatism!

Oh really?

What would you call the following?

1. His support for Amnesty
2. His support for bailing out Sub-Prime lendees who defaulted on their loans
3. His Health Care proposal that requires the Federal Government to give money to the states to provide Health Insurance for those who do cannot "afford it".
4. His support for bailing out the Automotive Industry
5. His support for instituting a Carbon Cap-and-Trade system

Research is your friend, my friend.

Try it, you'll like it.

And in this corner....wearing white trunks...the Agent of Hope and Change...the Celebrity...The One...The Messiah...The Obama!

And in the other corner...wearing dark trunks...the wiley veteran...John McCain.

OK.

Best not to believe anything McCain says beforehand. Even the McCainiacs know that.

WOW that is the ticket: Limbaugh/Coulter (extreme sarcasm).

Such a ticket cannot win a single county let alone a single state.

“How about private communication and not public airing of dirty laundry? “

Good point. I’ll just use my speed-dial to Juan and talk it over with him...

You’re right - there are times I’d like to take a 2x4 to him but after talking to Bud Day this past weekend, I’ve gone from voting AGAINST Obama by pulling the McC lever to actually being 100% behind him and voting FOR McC as my next President. The thought of The Chosen One is deja vu all over again taking us back to 1976 and Jimmah, Peanut, Carter....

>>He can claim that he had to pick someone so conservative because his base demanded it. That has the effect of softening any potential damage he’ll take from “moderates” for picking a solid conservative.<<

And also, after the media has suggested Lieberman, Ridge, etc., by comparison Romney or Pawlenty would look better to more of the R-base. If he just named Romney, the media discussion might be “But he is a recent flipper to pro-life.” After the rumors about the pro-choice VP possibilities, the coverage should be more like “McCain chooses pro-life running mate after all.”
