Santorum burned alot of bridges here in PA when he supported Snarlin Arlen Spector over a true conservative, Pat Toomey in the PA primary. L’il Ricky caved to the national GOP and gave his hearty endorsement to Mr. Magic Bullet.

That's interesting. I didn't know why Santorum had been voted out. IMO supporting Specter was a big mistake by the Bush administration. It appears to me (from my vantage point way out here in Colorado) to be another example of President Bush's excessive degree of loyalty to supposed allies who are not loyal in return.

I remember threads here on FR (I have been a FReeper for a looooong time) after the Bush/Santorum 'rallies' for Spector...that was going to be 'it' Arlen was finally going to magically turn to the Republican fold. He 'owed' the President. Yeah right. The Snarlin One pretty much thumbs his nose right back at Bush/Santorum after he won the primary (and shook off that pesky Toomey). Sad part is, if Bush/Santorum and NOT intervened, Toomey would have won...beat empty suit Bobby Casey (think Obama, but w/o the 'quick on his feet oratatory skills) and we would have (drum roll) TWO CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN SENATORS FROM PA!!!

I need to go walk my dog. Just thinking about it pi$$es me off...at least McCain has removed Tommy Ridge from the 'short list' right?
