Hillary Clinton Supporters Still Trying to Derail Obama Nomination
Scripps Howard ^ | Wednesday, August 20, 2008

A massive e-mail and Internet campaign is under way aimed at derailing the nomination of Barack Obama and making Hillary Clinton the party’s standard bearer next week at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

“It’s downright nasty,” said Memphis, Tenn., superdelegate and city council member Myron Lowery, who has shared dozens of the messages he’s received with The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal newspaper.

“I think it’s divisive for the ‘Support Hillary’ campaign to continue at this time. She made the decision to fully support Mr. Obama,” said Lowery, who initially supported Clinton but later switched his allegiance to Obama. “I don’t know why they’re not taking their cue from Hillary and falling in line.”

Lowery said he does not believe Clinton herself is behind the effort, but that it’s “her supporters, acting on their own because they’re proud of what they have done for her.”

Most of the messages Lowery has received from across the country come from Hillary supporters making the case that she won more voters’ votes in the primaries, she won bigger states, that Obama won states that won’t vote Democratic in November, and that she is the only “electable” Democrat.

We agree.

We crossed over and voted for her in the primaries.

I would vote for The Hildabeast before The One anyday.

But then that’s not the whole choice.

If these were all just a few kooks, “acting on their own because they’re proud of what they have done” for Hillary, it wouldn’t upset the DNC this much.

Now I never understood how anyone could trust Hillary... but from what I’ve been reading, there are some who are adamantly against Obama and very convicted in voting for McCain now, if Hillary doesn’t get the nom. Many are not expecting her to win, and some are more inspired by McCain than some conservatives here.

They’re mad at what the DNC did to them and who can blame them? The DNC, with their rules and rule changing, raped their own party. While some Hillary supporters are kooks, apparently many clearly see the dangers of an Obama presidency and want to stop him - just like we conservatives do.

So the good news: Operation Chaos has partially turned into Operation Common Sense. The bad news: the Obama/Pelosi/Dean machine have stacked the deck.

... and that in one instance Obama was likened to “the Anti-Christ."

Dude, like, that's outrageous, like, it's like likening 2+2 to "4" ...

"Obama was likened to “the Anti-Christ"

Whichever one of them wins the nomination is the Anti-Christ, by definition. Fun to see the Clinton supporters stirring things up so much - I won't mind if the coming week tears the party apart, so long as they don't bother the rest of us too much......

{{{shaking my head in disbelief at the clinton love that exists even here on this Conservative forum. Unfreaken’, unbelievable! }}}

No Clinton love here, just a smart poster stating the obvious that you have a difficult time understanding. Hillary is a more conservative candidate next to Obama...dah!!! Did you just wake up or are you one of those Obama Messiah lovers?

She is a better candidate than Obama. That hardly translates to love for that corrupt, lying scumbag.

A lying, scheming, corrupt-to-the-core, power-at-all-costs, poll-driven Marxist/Socialist is a better, more conservative candidate than NO ONE, smart poster!!!

All of you that are blinded by your sheer hatred of John McCain have tried and evidently succeeded in selling yourselves this sad story...that goes something like this, we're going to punish the GOP, McCain in particular, bring them to their knees and are willing to put two of the sorriest politician/human beings in this world back in charge of this country to fulfill your pathetic little self centered revenge plan! Pathetic! Pathetic!

Oh...and if clinton IS the BETTER candidate why in Hades would any Conservative want the BETTER candidate running as their opposition?!?

Answer that, SMART POSTER! As for your other stupid insults...the wake up, Obama Messiah lovers they are simply too asinine to even address.

'Course what would one expect except more juvenile silliness from a mindless group that is willing to sacrifice the good of the country just to satisfy their own fit-throwing-temper-tantrums?!?

Never mind, redundant question, you've already answered.

Yeah, she is a corrupt, better lying scumbag than just about any other candidate including Obama...if that is what you consider a better candidate.

The poster I had replied to, regardless of acknowledging some of her flaws, still wished her well. ...why would any Conservative wish the better candidate, the competition, WELL?!?

I would not count Hitlery out of this yet. Zogby’s poll today has to be worrying for the superdelegates... and they certainly know it is up to them to keep the fool electorate in check.

This is what superdelegates are for, after all.

“I think it’s a terrible tactic,” said Memphis delegate, Baptist minister and Shelby County, Tenn., Democratic Party Chairman Keith Norman. “We had hoped that this kind of politics, especially from within the party, would have been abandoned.”

A pledged Obama delegate, Norman noted that some of the attacks are overtly racist and that in one instance Obama was likened to “the Anti-Christ.”

Someone please tell me how a Baptist minister supports one, and then another pro-abortion candidates? What does he tell his congregation and co-religionists?
