Poland could have defeated the Soviets 69 years ago. But not with Germany coming from the other direction. At the end of the war, they were a devastated nation, with Soviet troops occupying a country in ruins.

In fact Russia has never beaten Poland alone - fighting face to face.

The only way they managed to do it was in co-operation with the Germans - in 18th century and later in 1939.

When the last time they tried to do deal with Poland without German help (in 1920) - they got their bu**s kicked really badly.
