So many e-mailers this morning are predicting that the McCain trial balloon is really about Giuliani. I'm not there, but here's one:
I don't think it's being floated for Liebermann or Ridge. I think he's considering Giuliani. - Might put NY in enough play to make Obama spend a lot of money there. - Has name recognition and gets plenty of respect on law enforcement/national security - Might be more palatable to pro-lifers if he were to make clear that it's McCain's pro-life administration The McCain campaign has already hired a Giuliani staffer as the unnamed veep's communications director...

I don’t think so. Not yet. He is still damaged goods from the last destruction, er, election.
Palin would rock the suburban housewife vote-and would blunt Hillary’s 2012 assault. Hillary would not be able to say she’s the most experienced female candidate. By then, Palin would be a guv and a VP. Hillary would be a former first lady and a 2 term senator.
You're just a little ray of sunshine, aren't you.
Santorum would get me off my vote, my wallet, and my butt to go work for him. That guy at the top of the ticket - what's his name again?
If that's all you care about, you better hope McCain picks a Hispanic.
Exactly. She is someone we could actually get excited about. Ridge would be a yawn.
And on a rumor.
Hmmm. Blackwell? That would be something!
I think JOEL HUNTER has gone nuts. Claiming he’s a pro life republican but touting the obama talking points? pathetic. They’re gonna have to convert his new church back into a skating rink!! LOL
LET'S STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE Primary Rooty was flogged for months by the pukeneos as the "front-runner." He and the pukes were rigorusly kicking conservatives ot the curb and religiously cleansing the Repub Party.
Giuli kept saying he was NOT competing in early primaries/caucuses (where those horrid conservatves lurk). In fact, Giuli obsessively campaigned in ALL early states AND lost EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. (Musta thought he was invisible to conservatives. Actually his stench announced his arrival.) The RINO ding-a-ling said he was "saving himself" for Fla---where he campaigned 61 days straight and finished a distant third. In the end, Giuli and the pukes shelled out $60 mill for one shared delegate.
The Guili crackup is now recorded in political annals---a standout for its complete and utter stupidity. When he was forced out, Giuli (surprise) endorsed McCain and said he would "campaign by McC's side" wherever asked. So far McC and Guili showed up at a NYC ball game with no pics allowed.
BOTTOM LINE Conservative-haters are rigging the election system. In Lieberman, we have the plusperfect example of the power-mongering pukes colluding to rig US elections. Lieberman (touted as McC's top surrogate), donates $100K to Democraps while kissing up to McC. This is totally unprincipled, and antithetical to the two-party system. Lieberman keeps a foot in each camp----employing the utilitarian doctrine: "the end justifies the means."
END GAME The 2008 election is rigged----no matter who wins, Lieberman and his puke amnesty-loving, Endless War cronies are salivating to get their hands on US treasure. Watch for a massive transfer of wealth to Mexico and Mideast hellholes.
I see either Kasich, Portman or Boehner. Picking Blackwell would smack of pure tokenism, and will not change the fact that 90+% of the black population will be voting for Obama.
Oh my! Rush just said that the McCain advisors are calling delegates and high donors giving them the heads up about Leiberman! GET ON THE PHONES, FOLKS!
Well, at least one person appreciates my sense of humor. The rest of them are all stressed trying to find out what I meant by the Ohio remark, but I will stand by it. McCain announces in Ohio for a reason. What the reason is or who he intends to pick is anyone’s guess, especially me. I want him to pick Palin but announcing in Ohio precludes that, so therefore, it could be Blackwell(and I wouldn’t mind that) or any or several others he could pick from in Ohio. He does need that state, so I am thinking he will pick someone that can possibly bring in votes from Ohio.
ditto.
I’m tellin’ ya, Ohio=John Glenn.
He’s above it all.
He’s run rings around the whole world...
Or his wife.
NOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!!!

“Rudy would help in NJ, CT, PA, NY and FL.”
Rudy would help in NY, NJ and CT, perhaps enough to tip the scales towards McCain in NJ (but probably not CT and certainly not NY). He may help a bit in the Philly metro area, but would be a huge minus in Western PA and the “T,” and would deny McCain the socially conservative Dem votes he needs to carry PA (I honestly believe that if McCain selects a conservative runningmate he will carry PA, MI and OH because blue-collar and socially conservative white Dems would pick him over Obama). As for FL, Rudy would help McCain some in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and other areas with liberal Republicans (not that McCain needs more help there), but would be a drag on the ticket in North Florida; besides, I think McCain will carry FL comfortably if he picks a conservative VP, so picking Rudy wouldn’t gain him FL and may actually cost him the state.
Throw in how Rudy being on the ticket would depress conservative turnout nationally, perhaps costing us Missouri, Virginia, Colorado, Nevada and other states, and McCain could be in for an electoral drubbing.
There are plenty of solid conservatives that John McCain could pick as his runningmate. If he wants to win, he should pick one of them.
Rudy is even more pro-abortion than Ridge. Rudy supports both partial-birth & taxpayer-funded abortions. Ridge supports some abortion restrictions.
Conservatives aren't going to compromise on abortion. It ain't happening and I don't care how hard your masters in the GOP establishment whine.
You need to realize that conservative support for McCain is already fractured to begin with.
