Barackstar to Michigan's new Welfare Queen: 'Stay away... STAY AWAY!'
RightMichigan.com ^ | 19 Aug 08 | Nick De Leeuw

Attention women: If you live in Michigan and you're a fan of Barack Obama then there's a big party being thrown today just for you. Well, assuming your name isn't Jennifer Granholm. The Ivory Tower reports this morning that the Barackstar's campaign is kicking off their official "Michigan Women for Obama" organization. Here's the trick... the headliner isn't Michigan's first female governor, one of the former "rising stars" of the national Democratic Party. It isn't that female governor who took so many folks by storm only four years ago at the Democratic National Convention. It isn't the woman who cleaned up in 2006, winning a second term at the state Capitol. But that doesn't mean there won't be a woman in the building.

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius will be in state headlining the event. Let me say that again:

In a state with a sitting, twice elected, female Democratic governor "Michigan Women for Obama" is being launched today by Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Irony thy name is Barack.

The official line is that schedules just plain didn't work for the governor to be a part of any launch. And by "schedules" they mean "she's becoming a pariah."

Reading on, you'll find out that 1 out of 8 Michigan residents now get "food stamp" money.

Could it be that Sebelius is being groomed for a spot in the Obama administration?

Could it be that Sebelius is being groomed for a spot in the Obama administration?

Why, does she have personal hygiene deficiencies?

I realize that food stamps are not a popular thing, but Michigan, especially Detroit, is circling the drain. Homes are selling for as little as $1 in some neighborhoods. Homes that people purchased 20-30 years ago to retire in, have very little possibility of selling in the economy. Whole blocks of homes are empty, whole blocks of businesses are boarded up.

You can look at a lot of reasons. Failure of the auto industry to adapt, failure of the state of Michigan to change ahead of the oncoming change in the industries, unions failing to see what was happening; you name it, it happened.

Michigan can’t keep this up for long. At some point, push is going to come to shove. The Gov is hoping that Michigan will attract new businesses. Don’t really see that, as the new manufacturing plants are being built in places like South Carolina, Texas, etc.

As the displaced liberals flee the chaos they created only to recreate it in SC and TX, where will the jobs go next?

Granholm was Hitlery’s Michigan Campaign Chairperson, so it isn’t surprising that she isn’t invited to a Osamabama rally.

“REally? Then why do they have her listed as being on the short list?”

I don’t know of anyone who would put Granholm on a short list for dog catcher this year, given her record since her last election. I’ve never seen her considered for anything more than Senate positions. Everyone knows that she was born in Canada, and therefore unable to be POTUS.

After all the work Engler did on wellfare, what a shame. Too bad Western Michigan can’t secede from the rest of the state. Let Detroit destroy itself.
