COLLECT CALL: Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith allegedly said he would send Sen Jeff Klein as an "enforcer" against lobbyists who didn’t donate to Democrats. Smith, the married father of two fathered an out-of-wedlock child with a woman other than his wife three years ago.
Smith told lobbyists that their clients would be shut out of a Democrat-controlled Senate in January if they didn't pony up large contributions now, a "shocked" longtime lobbyist has told The Post. "It was a shocking set of remarks and people were looking around the room in disbelief," said the well-known lobbyist, who has strong Republican and Democratic ties. "It was far more blatant a threat than anything we're used to hearing from many of the leaders," the lobbyist continued. "The whole thing was incredible. "He said we should get in early because then it doesn't cost as much....and if you don't get in at all, then it will be painful after November, after the Democrats win the majority," the lobbyist continued. "....he referred to [Bronx state Sen.] Jeff Klein about four times as his 'enforcer,' who is going to be brutal, aggressive, about collecting the contributions." Smith made "an inappropriate and unprofessional" sexual innuendo at the event---a Senate Democratic golf outing at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, attended by about 75 lobbyists who paid up to $75,000 each.
Linking campaign contributions to future government actions is illegal under New York law, legal experts told The Post.

Most politicians would make these threats in the secrecy of the smoke-filled back room where anything that is discussed is cloaked in deniability. This guy is like the Revrum Wright ... he cannot determine what should be said in public and what should not. I am not sure if it is his upbringing, arrogance, or total lack of common decency. Maybe he went to the Michelle NOBama school of philosophy.

What’s that going to do? Demo-Can’ts run New York and will investigate themselves. If they can get away with rape, abuse of power, lying to the public, embezzlement, etc; what’s a little strong arming lobbyist matter to them?

The lobbyist should have know this day would come, when they got the worthless politicians addicted to their drug.
They think they are above the Law and they may be at this point. Think Paterson or Cuomo will bother to do anything about it? Doubtful, they want the dems to take the senate...
If that happens we are royally screwed. And it will really make me think about moving. Where are the Feds when we need them?

You just wouldn’t believe the crap that is going on in Albany.... Watch my blog, this week things will be coming to a head as the vote to cap property taxes... The senate just did. The unions are going berserk screaming the world is gonna end.
