Obama's vacation is just as meaningless in the long run as his 10-country, 9-day trip that was supposed to eliminate his perceived lack of experience in foreign policy. The vacation doesn't mean anything, but the idea that it can be used as an excuse is scary.
I like how Obama said he would urge American sacrifice in answer to ALL of it’s problems...
sacrifices like taking the family on a Hawaii vacation, I wonder?
Hope you’re all nailed down .. prayers for your
safety. Is your daughter still in Key West ?
you nailed my sentiments exactly. It is tiring, hearing this stuff over and over.
Hang in there, we have new members everyday that have catching up to do, because the old media won’t do
I have had respectful disagreements with some people here on specific issues.
It really becomes an issue when we have professional trolls (ie paid by campaigns or 527s) who come here to sow dissention or make FR look bad.
We had a whole host of paid trolls purged back in when Giuliani was still running. Those posters that were reasoned and could talk issues are still here.
I don’t think nominating Hillary as VP is going to help Obama for several reasons:
1. Obama’s people dislike her and would see this as “caving” to the Clintons.
2. Hillary’s people LOATHE Obama. Not only would it not help Obama, it would hurt Hillary, as many of her supporters would consider her either a sell-out or accepting the VP position as a consolation prize.
3. Some of Hillary’s people would be so outraged they would continue to agitate against Obama, and either vote for McCain or stay home.
4. Once Hilllary is on the ticket Obama would have all of the Clintonites moving into his camapign, and serious infighting would occur.
5. And, (TA-DA) Bill CLinton would be on the loose again, making his snarky comments and causing all sorts of trouble.
So whatever happens, I am not the least bit worried.
I am watching Late Edition and already I have an insightful comment.
Saakashvili....WHAT’s THE DEAL WITH THAT HAIR?
I tell you Miss Marple, I never laughed so hard except when watching CNN last week with Campbell Brown and her segment, with all seriousness, on McCain’s attempt to confer the “anti-christ” meme on Obama. It was beyond stupid. ANd yet, Campbell and her guests were debating this story in all seriousness. It is one of the reasons that her show is a big failure.
The “ONE” ad was terrific, humorous, and really hurt Obama, which is evidenced by media’s story-line that McCain is trying to ruin Obama with this kind of campaigning.
God and George W Bush kept their end of the bargain.
But, the American people....
Ten dollars?
Heh.
Five bucks, tops.
I would be more worried if Hillary stole the nomination but named Obama as her VP.
At this point, I cannot fathom either happening. There is simply too much water under the bridge between Bill, Hillary and Obama.
Obama had no vacation, it was a strategy and/or crisis meeting.
they need to regroup after losing to Hillary in the convention schedule.
Obama also needs to figure out how much he still has to pay hillary to NOT cause him problems. dollars not pesos.
Andrea Mitchell just saw that Maverick will likely be the next President if he debates like that. He was the best since Reagan with his charm, wit and stories. He is definately his own man who has lived a full life.
If that were a boxing match Black Oblack would have been taken out in an ambulance.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
Pres. Saakashvili - Georgia - on NOW = CNN!
That’s how I saw it as well. Interesting that the DBM and Democrats are in a state of denial over it. Great stuff when that happens.
Tune in just for the hair.
So, Russia can’t prevail unless we stand down, right?
That makes me nervous.
Caught the end of it. Wolfe didn’t seem very happy at the end. Now he’ll get the Russian opposing view?
Sheesh, talk about living in a fairy tale.
