McCain: Back in the Saddleback
MSNBC ^ | Sat. Aug. 16 | NBC's Ch78uck Todd

Every Obama answer was certainly thoughtful enough but he seemed to want to explain himself too much and went out of his way not to offend folks who disagree with him. Don't get me wrong, this will play well with some but McCain's directness and snappy answers that were on message allowed him to look commanding on that stage.

Obama probably left the stage high-fiving his angry wife, and thinking he was super man. After McCain's hour was finished, Obama was looking for a place to hang his head in shame. McCain was THAT impressive, and I don't even like McCain that much. Even that left wing NBC people can see how commanding and impressive McCain was.

“...how commanding and impressive McCain was.”

What does that tell you? It tells me that he is the real deal while Obama is a just another “dope deal”.

Here in Texas several weeks ago Obama and McCain were invited to speak in a Townhall at Fort Hood. Not much press about Obama not accepting. It is clear that Obambi can’t answer questions in real-time honestly.

As we often discuss here Obama is the world’s first teleprompter candidate.

Here’s what I don’t undestand:

If McCain was in front of “his base” last night, as these lib’s claim, the ENTIRE CROWD would have been clapping in agreement when he said things such as “I believe that life begins at conception.”

But, if you look closely, you’ll see that only half the audience was clapping. What that told me is that HALF the audience was pro-choice. Hardly McCain’s base.

Neither McCain or Obama had an edge going in last night, despite what the liberals say; therefore, McCain won.

"Even that left wing NBC people can see how commanding and impressive McCain was."

I didn't see Obama or McCain on this forum, but I agree with you 100%. If MSNBC says McCain did a better job than Obama, thats huge!

Never thought I'd see that nest of lefty snakes compliment McCain over the Messiah.

And if it was Keith Overbite reporting on the event, he still would have made it sound like a wrong answer could never be uttered by Obama, and McCain was wrong even before he answered the questions.

Those are MSNBC groupies. Forget them. McCain mopped the floor with Obama last night without mentioning him. I must say I was impressed.

Obama and his campaign better find a different opening speaker at the convention. Right now, the scheduled speaker is Michelle Obama. If they use her in any significant capacity at the convention, Barack will only be digging himself an even deeper hole.

Obama can’t work off the cuff... and you can count on his left-wing MSM friends moderating future debates offering him their questions well ahead of time so he can compose his answers and highlight his acting skills.

That is the one simmilarty between him and Ronald Reagan - They’re both actors, but Ronnie was a very good actor, Obama is more Urkel, than Reagan like in his performance.

Yes. I agree. It got to the point that I was actually looking forward to what McCain was going to say, as if the interview transcended a contest, and now was an interview with a man who has really devoted his life to this country, and can truthfully have the potential to unite...

Obama did the best he could do...

BTW what answer did Mac give regarding the three people who have influenced you the most....? Obama’s answer was pathetic and sad....but he had to keep the real people off the answer as we all well know.

I watched it twice trying to be fair - I read the previous 2,000 plus thread.

McCain was more presidential in his direct delivery and response and his willingness to hear other sides. He was the most determined I have seen him since this whole circus began.

Obama seems to have enhanced his darkness on his Hawaiian adventure - I guess the fading or lightening of his skin color didn’t impress those necessary to be impressed.

Obama stuttered like a sophomore who skipped study hall. Nothing much to make a comment on - especially a positive one.

This forum has picked up some trolls thank you - who continually embarrass themselves. Not criticizing because I embarrass myself too - but please don’t try SO HARD!

Why not understand we are all capable of learning new things - this might be the place for you after all.

If I was on Obama’s side, I’d sure want it fixed! That’s all my point was.

It’s an msnbc thread. What is funny is that the posters were endeared to obama’s answers that took into consideration everyone’s feelings on every single subject, and completely turned off by McCain’s quick and direct responses.

My take- obama answers the way he does because he is not sure what the answer should be. He’s reaching out, looking for direction, and following the path of least resistance. He flubs up once in a while and so he makes yet another thoughtful commentary to “just clarify” or “be perfectly clear” on where he stands.

Until last night, I was resigned to voting for McCain just to beat BO—however, I was impressed! I am feeling much better with supporting McCain now. That was a great venue.
