Dont get me wrong I half expected to see anti-Obama author Jerome Corsi at todays Bigfoot press conference.
But not everything in the Obama campaigns 40-page refutation of Corsis shoddy and dishonest book Obama Nation is fair.
Much of what Corsi writes in his book is demonstrably false, irresponsible, and feverishly conjured. The book is indefensible, as are Corsis many bigoted remarks about Arabs, the Pope and others.
But the Obama campaign got a little greedy in their refutations.
First of all, on the front of the response, is a labeled stamped Brought to you by Bush/Cheney Attack Machine.
Corsi has actually called for the impeachment of President Bush. Corsis a 9/11 Truther who thinks the Bush administration is covering up what really happened at the World Trade Center.
That said, the Simon & Schuster imprint that published this book is run by former Cheney aide Mary Matalin. So those looking for evidence this is part of a larger "Bush/Cheney Attack Machine" hit can point to her presence in this literary atrocity. But I don't think it's fair to blame this nasty screed on the President, considering the anti-Bush venom from Corsi.*

Corsis a 9/11 Truther who thinks the Bush administration is covering up what really happened at the World Trade Center. This is a lie.

Its surprising Jake Tapper is fair. I like him. He mentions that while Corsi is a 9/11 Truther.... he thinks he didn't get everything wrong. Corsi is correct about Obama's fighting Alice Palmer for the Democratic nomination, that Obama has plagiarized Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Merill McPeak is on record as having anti-Israel views. That Corsi may be a 9/11 conspiracist doesn't mean he's completely nonfactual about Obama. For Tapper, the Obama campaign just doesn't know how to respond to the facts presented about him. A presidential candidate should be held to higher standards. In the meantime, the rest of the MSM still has no idea what is going on!

Corsi has actually called for the impeachment of President Bush. Corsis a 9/11 Truther who thinks the Bush administration is covering up what really happened at the World Trade Center. He did call for the impeachment of Bush if he put us into some kind of North American Union agreement, but many people would if a President sold out our country like that. As far as being a Truther, that is a gross exaggeration. Corsi did question if burning jet fuel could cause the towers to collaspe, but he never supported or suggested any of the loony ideas from the Truthers put out were true.

One of Obama’s more interesting rebuttals was to call Bob Beckel a Republican strategist.

Is it a lie that he supports the impeachment of Bush? In context, Corsi was speaking if Bush or any other President got us tied up into some kind of a North American Union treaty.

Having read Tapper's column, I'd say his slams at Corsi are all vague generalizations, not nearly commensurate with the heavily footnoted references made by Corsi.
Tapper needs to do a lot more if he expects to win over thoughtful people to his point of view. Of course, his writing smacks far more of preaching to a choir of Obambi supporters.

Tapper points out that while Corsi is a crank, its not his views that are the issue. The issue is where Obama standing on refuting as I noted, very specific charges against him. And so far, he's fallen short.

“Much of what Corsi writes in his book is demonstrably false, irresponsible, and feverishly conjured. The book is indefensible,”
How can a journalist assert this without a single substantiation of the point in the article????
I’m not saying the book is perfect, I haven’t read it and don’t know how good it is or isn’t. But I don’t see any evidence to back up what this guy is saying??

If Corsi is really a “9/11 Truther” or I should say “9/11 Fool or Liar” why should I trust anything he says !
His “9/11 foolishness” if widely known will undermine all his past arguments !

I got, started but never finished Corsi’s “Unfit for Command.” It was a good book but I think that the problem was JfK’s rather one-dimensional character. He’s just not an interesting person in any way. I do plan to read Obama Nation and my guess is that it’s a lot more interesting as BHO has a much more “interesting” background, a lot of it shrouded. Barack and his clique are far more dangerous that Kerry could ever have been.

Good to hear that !
I may actually buy the book then !
How did this get started?
Has Corsi done anything to refute it?

Axelrod admitted he gave Patrick’s stuff to Obama. The sad part is, it was Axelrod that plagerized Spike Lee’s Malcom X movie.

“Its surprising Jake Tapper is fair.”
If he was fair, he would broach the subject whether Obama’s 40 page screed is mostly nuts itself.
