Michael Savage has taken up any number of grand-sounding causes in the last few years and then dropped them when he lost interest, and (it seems to me) he loses interest when the "contributions" he solicits stop rolling in. I say "the last few years" because that's how long he's been embarrassing himself on an AM station that serves the market I live in. For all I know, he's been engaging in this tactic from day one in the San Francisco market in which he first gained fame. He is at best a phony, and does no one any good when he mounts a madcap campaign to confront an organization as dangerous as CAIR, which can now be expected to make maximum use of their "victory" over him.
People like Michael Savage have been around forever. You used to be able to hear them raving in mental asylums. These days, they can be given national radio hookups.
