Hardly a victory, but we'll take it.

As long as they are breaking the law, it's not over. The exemption for Disney World is illegal. They fired an employee for having one, and he is suing. I hope he gets his retirement from it.

Awesome. I just had a quick mental image of Dopey safetying his Desert Eagle as Minnie checks the loads in her P229.

Gone are the days of the 1934 Disney production, Two-Gun Mickey.

In the case you mention, I don’t understand how an employee having a locked gun in their car is relevant to Disney having fireworks on the premises. ;(

I believe it is the fact that since they have explosives on the grounds it triggers an exception in the state law, thus allowing them to prohibit firearms on the premises. The general belief, in other threads here, is that the clause was inserted into the state law specifically at the behest of Disney.

Well, well -- what do you know!

This is good news -- the new Florida law as well as this precedent of compliance bodes well for this legislation propagating to other states.

The Jungle Ride used to use real firing Smith and Wesson model 66 for the “guide” to fire.

I have one....early 70s model.....nickel, not stainless.

Fellow used to work there 30 years ago “came to possess it”

Since there aren’t any sharks, would they put the laser on Pluto’s head?

Thanks for explanation RSR ... it’s always about *control* ...never personal responsibility.

The new policy applies only to facilities not in the WD resort area. How many such facilities are there in FL that are not actually in the resort area? Me thinks nothing from nothing is still nothing.

Here's a bit more info.

I suspect this will *go-all-the-way* because it makes no sense that some Disney employees have protection of 2A and others don't.

I have no knowledge of FL politics, but sounds as if the FL AG is a Disnazi.
