They are liars. All of them. (challenges MSM's version of events in Georgia)

I hope everyone has heard about the war in South Ossetia and Georgia. You probably are convinced by what the media reports, in particular that “Russia is the aggressor against innocent Georgia”. Our government is backing Georgia and also telling us about Russia’s aggression. But that is a lie. I have always made fun of the conspiracy theory people, but I find myself in the same position–criticizing the government and sounding crazy. But I cannot keep quite when such an injustice is going on; so please do not take my words as that of a crazy man who hates America–on the contrary, this country has given me many blessings for which I am endlessly thankful; I care about it and am deeply saddened by how effectively the media has fed us propaganda over the last week. Please read the following short account of my story:

I grew up in Abkhazia, a country only hours away from South Ossetia (see map below). I lived through the 1992 war between Georgia, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia. I have been bombed and shot at by the Georgians. Right now we are in contact with our family in Abkhazia and we receive information first hand with no media bias. I know what I am talking about.

Georgia attacked South Ossetia, destroying its capital Tskhinvali, killing innocent people; Russia came in to protect the Ossetians. If Russia did not step in, Georgians would further the attack and take over Abkhazia; my family would be slaughtered by now. Yet, I am absolutely shocked, absolutely astonished how the media lies to us, telling us “Russia was the aggressor”. I have never, NEVER thought this can be possible in the US–I always believed that the US government has good intentions. Not anymore. All I heard on the news is that “Georgia is an ally that Russia attacked” and similar such lies. George Bush is supporting Saakashvili, the man who lies left and right, and attacks innocent civilians. I cannot believe my ears.

I am not protecting the Russian government, because I do understand that it is likely corrupt also. Of course they are not innocent. However, that does not mean that WE Americans can support injustice just because it is going against the rival power Russia. The bottom line is that Georgia attacked first; they attacked civilians. Russians fought on behalf of the Ossetians. Yet, the media has zero coverage on the devastation of the South Ossetian people. This is just ridiculous.

Why am I writing this? I do not know what else I can do. I must speak the truth. I am paying taxes to the US government, which supports Georgia, which in turn bombs my homeland; in other words, I am funding the destruction of my own people. How can I keep quiet?

I know you don’t go to a photographer’s blog to read about politics, so I will stop now. Please do watch the videos below. Please be informed. Please feel free to ask me any questions (photodu@gmail.com). Please speak the truth.

A little background on the hostility you are finding here.

It was your brave countrymen who raped and burned everything all the way from the Dniepr to Berlin, “liberating” countries along the way, who mass murdered in Katyn, who raped Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and other countries, and got away with it all to this very day. Credibility? Zero, zilch, goose egg!

Compare yourself to the forever guiltridden Germans!

That is correct. The ethnic Georgians who were booted from Abkhazia were still trying to get settled when I was in Georgia a few years ago. Some with their sheep. I have pics of them.

Yes, Ethnic cleansing of Georgians in Abkhazia.

Dude, be a man and give me a call. If you accuse me, stand up to your word. You sit behind your computer feeling brave ya? Be a man

I do not want to repeat myself; I said all I could. You dismiss everything I say because “I didn’t mention I was Russian”; alright, what do you want me to do to prove that it wasn’t intentional huh?

If any of you doubt my sincerity, why don’t you call me? Any of you? Any of you really care about the truth huh? You accuse me of being a liar and a hypocrite; what, you say I don’t have relatives in Abkhazia, or I’m not from the region, or what am I lying about huh? What am I not sincere about huh? It’s easy for all of you to type anything you want but then you don’t answer for your words.

As I wrote on my initial post, I am grateful for America, and I wrote later that I don’t support Putin in general, so stop ignoring my words, and actually listen to what I am saying

I love freedom and civilization. Why are you accusing me of non-sense?

Hey,

First, thank you for showing me at least some respect. Everybody thinks I am just lying. Great.

As far as the whole war thing—again, you say that “s for the Western media, why is it that the Eastern media, in the countries formerly occupied by your countrymen, agrees with the misinforming American MSM”. Well, again, this info you got from the American press. Actually, the Chechens, with whom the Russians have fought for a LONG time, joined Russia during this war here (against Georgia). I think they sent something like 2000 troops to help. Well, of course, nobody told you about that because it would be against the general bias.

Again, I am not claiming that Russia is innocent, I am NOT. If they killed innocent people (and they obviously have), that is very wrong. What I am saying, essentially is the Georgia carries more blame, and it is unthinkable that we are painting them as “innocent and harmless”

I never said they are not growing their economy, but the “less-corrupt” part is really a joke. Yesterday Saakashvili said that we (Georgians) are “corruption-free”. Haha. If you were from any of the former Soviet Union countries, you would know how stupid that statement sounds

I believe you would be able to tell easier that I am sincere. Maybe not. I just have a problem with all of you writing bunch of accusations, and hiding behind your computer. That’s not manly at all (and I assume most of you here are men)

Also, people seem to think I’m a “crazy propaganda machine” or something. That bothers me. If we talked, it seems that would help

Stop booting me from “your” country. It is a country of immigrants, if you remember. I love this country; i dislike the leaders and the media right now.

Wow, yes, thank you so much for that information. You think I don’t know that people are evil? I do. Of course there are instances of people killing and massacring others—and you are defending another one of those people Saakashvili.

You know, it would be one thing to just blame Russia for whatever, but all of you paint Saakashvili as this blameless angel; you know that sounds pretty ridiculous

By the way, there was ethnic cleansing of Abkhazians by Georgians. Tell the whole story ya? Like I said in post 101, its a brutal war. Georgians hate Abkhazians, and Abkhazians hate Georgians; they want to kill one another.

In the 1992 war we first saw Abkhazians massacred, then we saw Georgians massacred.

The reports included a detailed description of how the separatists played soccer with the heads of dead Georgians on the field after the executions in Gagra.[22]

I knew a Georgian woman who told me about that being on television in Georgia.

My family is from a former communist country and I know that the legacy of communism is corruption. They are making steps in the right direction though. Im sure you think this is just capitalist propaganda though.

The World Bank recognized Georgia as the world's fastest-reforming economy in its 2008 "Doing Business" report, ranking it as the world's 18th easiest place to do business, in the same league as countries such as Germany, Sweden, and Estonia. The World Bank's "Anti-Corruption in Transition 3" report places Georgia among the countries showing the most dramatic improvement in the struggle against corruption, due to implementation of key economic and institutional reforms, and reported reduction in the bribes paid by firms in the course of doing business.

Look, the history of Communist crimes is well known to the conservatives here and elsewhere. But if you went to Russian or American schools, I bet they taught you none of that, the suspicion of which is what motivated my Captain Obvious post. After all, we are still chasing 90 year old Nazi war criminals down in Patagonia, while General Jaruzelski walks around free, collecting generous retirement pay.

I must emphasize that the Eastern Eurpoean media don't take their orders from the left wing American MSM, and in those countries, you will find a whole range of views in the press, not all pro-American, but as far as I can tell, all or most pro-Georgian.

Other than that, please ignore, if you don't already, the lame "go back to Cuba, if you don't like it here" posts!

Maybe, maybe not. I did document up thread that ~30K ethnic Georgians were masacered and 270,000 other ethnic Georgian were forced to leave Abkhasia.

Can you document the same about Georgians against Abkhazians.
