Oh of course. Russia is totally innocent. Meek, mild peaceful Russia. Yeah, that huge war machine that is Georgia...
Prayers go out for you and your family and for the free nation of Georgia. All the world needs to stand up, take notice and take action against this Russian aggression, especially Europe.
I recieved a similar email from my friend in Georgia. I fear for her safety. I’ve never met her personally, but we have correspond with emails and share photos.
My prayers for your friend and for Georgia.

Yea. I agree. They should have sent some vodka and caviar to Mr. Saakashvili after they got reports that several dozens of their peacekeepers that were trying to prevent bloodshed between Georgians and S.Ossetians are killed by the Georgian army.
By the way, do any of you know that historically neither S. Ossetia nor Abhazia were ever a part of Georgia? Well, not until in the early 1930-ies Stalin (an ethnic Georgian) redrew the border and added these provinces to Georgia. It is a centuries old dispute and we have no business of getting into it.
In the Ossetian region I would guess not, but what about the other areas now under Russian control?
Russia is not innocent in this mess, and they are not defending anyone except their own interests. They are bad actors now as in they have been in the past, Putin is a KGB thug and anyone that trusts them or anything Putin says is deluded.
Russian “peacekeepers” my a$$...
I have not heard anything about things like this.
The Georgian people are very civil.
But when push comes to shove, they will fight hard for their country and independence.
Blurb on FNC tanks on move toward capitol again. Did Condi just leave?? Georgian President to have live interview with Cavuto bottom of hour.
I saw that and just sent another group email to my friends.
25 miles out, wasn’t it?
Something like that. Going after an ouster of the President?I am sure he riled a few feathers in Moscow earlier today.
They need to give him some drugs. He is losing it.
I saw how Condi tried to shift and prepare herself when Misha was introduced. He is doing his country no favors now and then. He did ok on Larry King last night but not great.
He is really in need of help and I mean valium or something.
I think he was spot on. He told it just like it is, no punches pulled, no politico speak for a change, thought it was great.
It’s reading things like this that make me feel so lucky to have been born in American!
I hope that what Putin has tried to do is returned to him in spades. The path of destruction that has folllowed him that we have heard of makes me wonder just how bad what we don’t know about is!
Nice home-page MarMema and interesting links. Enjoyed visitig Georgia by way of ‘Irakli’. Hope he is able to continue sharing in meaningful ways. . .brings the realities of Georgia closer to home.
A bit over emotional, though. I am glad you didn’t see him as losing it.
Oh this email is not from Irakli. Irakli is in Batumi.
This email is from a woman I met while in Georgia a few years ago.
I was referring to your link to ‘Irakli’ and his blog where he ‘introduces’ Georgia; (and not the e-mail here. ;^).
Oh ok, sorry.
I hope your friend continues to e-mail you and share her thoughts; and that you will continue to share her thoughts here as well.
It is not just a ‘hot spot’; it is a Democracy. . .and Russia cannot be allowed to turn the clock back against time and ‘enlightenment’ and erase and absorb a country that is a Democracy. War is not the only answer here; but Bush and those who support Freedom in our world had better be preparing initiatives of some import here. Freedom means everything. . .and those who have it are obligated to to whatever they must to protect a Democracy under attack. Or so goes the world to tyranny.
