Are you going to post Georgian information that the Russians prevented the west from getting with thier IT attack on Georgia at the start of the war?
Or, are you another so-called conservatives, shilling for communists because they hate neocons more than the love truth?

ok accept that they where moved up. The timing does seem reasonable. There are still big questions though. The number one being the Russians always lie.

To answer your question though, Do you still beat your wife?

So, comrade, do you agree with Georgia’s brutal tactic of indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas?

There not the same, but to make you more comfortable I'll rephrase... Do you agree with Georgia’s tactic of shelling civilian areas?

for the record, I don't believe the death toll is anywhere near what the Russians are claiming. All sides make wild claims. Even some Freepers!

If the Georgians were indiscriminately shelling civilians, that would be wrong and evil. They do have a right to defend their citizens from Russian artillery though.

As far as the exagerated death tolls, the Russains lied about 2k+ Ossetians being killed while the Georgians reported much more sober figures. A propagandist on RT refuted the idea that Russia’s response was disproportionate. She said, These are the proportions, two thousand Ossetian civilians killed, fifty Georgians.

One of the things that is so tragic is that Georgia was making great strides to throw off the legacy of corruption left over from communism. It was putting conservative ideas into practice and the economy was starting to take off. If Russia hadn’t intervened, Its possible that Georgia would be emerging as an economic power on par with Western nations over the next couple decades. Imagine how embarrassing it would be for Moscow to have one of their slaves doing better than them? They just couldn’t let that happen.

There are some serious doubts about Saakashvili’s sanity. If you want to win over a separatist territory sending an army is not a good idea. Try building schools and hospitals, not bombing.

Actually he did that you ignorant, dishonest, scumsucking Vlad trollie. His reward was the barbarian, ravening, animal Russians and their vile shadows in Ossetia getting so jealous of the successful Georgians that they just had to rip their betters down as much as they can right now... Stay tuned trollie boy for LASTING results.

How were separatists ever won over by schools and hospitals?

Actually the Georgians did build such for both "breakaway" enclaves. Apparently they resented the fact that their betters had to give them charity...

Why would Georgians expect their own troops to be chasing and bombing them?

Sounds like a set-up to me.
Georgia didn't set up a self caused Russian occupation.

I hope some of the Georgians slip into Russia and vaporize some prime military targets, then blame it on Iranians.

Thanks for that addition.
You get the point of my posts.

Timing is everything.
And places like Hungary and Czechoslovakia over-estimated the
will for America to match her words of friendship and support
in "crunch time".

Thanks. And I agree with you second point.

But they could have put Ossetian fire down vie suppressive fire or counter battery action. I think Saakashvili wanted the Russian to come in and wanted them mad! He had been turned down for NATO. Perhaps he though the West would come to his defense or more likely he was prepared to "trade" South Ossetia for future NATO membership.

What do you think is more valuable... Control of the Roki tunnel or a NATO membership?

Regarding your other comment.

One of the things that is so tragic is that Georgia was making great strides to throw off the legacy of corruption left over from communism

Saakashvili isn't quit the saint he's made out to be. Check these videos. These are from an opposition rally last year. Video 1, video 2. For an interesting Georgia as beauty and beast video click here

I've seen another video where his armed gunmen close down a TV news show while it's on the air. I'll try and find it.

He also was determined to close down South Ossetia via Peace Inforcement, the same ternm the Russians are using against him. There used to be a free trade area where the Ossets and Georgians traded. He closed it down.

People were twice as article 1 more by Thomas de Waal, more, more and more.

For what I posted about the jealous scum resenting their betters who had given them hospitals, schools, even theaters ... take a look at http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=303690021329576 and go all the way down to the Q&A. It’s amazing.

Tramonto you probably have all the info at the link, but if not, specific figures are in the body...

From the link: This is the country where — which moved from 140 — something place in terms of business environment where we were in par with Nigeria and our neighbor, Russia, to being number 17 ahead of the U.K., Germany, Netherlands, and some other leading world economies. That’s what we will achieve, that this is the country that — where — which had been bombed with cluster bombs, which has been robbed, looted. And still the police function. The lights were on. Doctors were in place. Supply lines never stopped. And people never got desperate and never ran away and never succumbed to this pressure. That’s what we managed to build.

The TRUTH about Georgia was that the Russians invaded the country.

The full TRUTH is that the crazy Georgian president (who likes to send thugs to beat demonstrators) started shelling civilians in South Ossetia, a territory that hasn't been ruled by Georgia since the 1920s. Since then, he has tried to get us sucked into a new World War III. Since you are interested in TRUTH, why not tell the full TRUTH?

It was interesting that the Fox interviewer suddenly got nervous and cut off the guest when she failed to live up to the “Georgia is an innocent victim” template. They decide, you receive.

Yet another little thug Vladdie boy troll.

Really? You don't like the truth? I notice you haven't disputed anything I wrote. Putin's a thug, but so is Saakashvili. And Saakashvili could have avoided this whole mess!

NATO protected us from nuclear war with the Soviet Union. You want us to get an immature hot head like him, bordering Russia, NATO protection? You may want your balls in Saakashvili's hands, but not me!

Do Russians ever do anything EXCEPT lie?

Like everyone else I expect they do.

How can Georgia "invade" it's own territory. . .?

The same way the Union could invade the Confederacy. No one gave the CSA diplomatic recognition either. For a little historical perspective, I suggest you take the quiz on world affairs I posted earlier:
