A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a US missile defense battery exposes the country to attack, pointing out that Russian military doctrine permits the use of nuclear weapons in such a situation, the Interfax news agency reported. *** Interfax said he added, in clear reference to the agreement, that Russia's military doctrine sanctions the use of nuclear weapons "against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them." Nogovitsyn said that would include elements of strategic deterrence systems, according to Interfax.

“psy war. just ignore em”
Seems to be working on many FR members.
“The thing is and Putin should realize this Iran will need to be dealt with before they have any serious nuclear arsenal. “
Obviously we are FR only know what we read, true and not, and what little we see of Putin, BUT there was a piece after his Iran trip which essentially said he had realized the iranian government was crazy and dangerous, and didn’t think like him at all. The article implied this was quite a shock to him to see in person.
Its Cobol actually. But I’m not the Govenator and I think he’s not very conservative anyway. Certainly no Ronald Reagan. But you are right the entire country and especially the upcoming generation is a big worry. We need to get back to basics and start acting like there is a God, and His commands do matter. We treat freedom like we are spoiled children in the candy store. No understanding of what freedom costs. No understanding that what the citizen’s of a country do , and the way they act determines the character of said country. With our future being determined by Paris Hilton/Maddona/Britanny Spears and various other whacko wannabes. With Ellen Degenerate legally marrying some other lesbian in California... Its a wonder the Lord hasn’t pounded us back in to the stone age. We need to get our act together on all fronts. How does this relate to the Russina invasion...I guess we’ll see when President Obama and Secretary of State Barney Franks come against the commies in Europe next year. God Help us.
i dont think the poles trust the european component of NATO, and with damn good reason.
Proof that there is no god after all.
My husband was just saying the same thing. Not Poland, not Taiwan. It’s sad but I don’t think we have anyone in office or running that has the balls to fight like we should.
You have good points. But God is not a monarch set to punish our wicked ways. Man has free will. When we moved away from the Founding Father’s framework of our nations laws based on Judeo-Christian values, we lose wisdom as humans (the ability to calculate many thought variables simealtanously). We become more like animals and behave as such. That makes it easier for our enemies to attack us and do economic damage on top of it to boot. Pain will correct our thinking but God does not rejoice in our pain. He only rejoices when we come back to our senses and relationship with Him.
I wish Bush and Cheney would line up 10,000 battle hardened US troops fresh from Iraq and just pummel the Russian forces within a matter of hours. Just humiliate the hell out of Russia and give them a spanking for all the world to see.
LOL! Now that is damn funny! And most funny stuff is based in some truth! Good one!
Oh dear God!
Guys, this isn’t play acting. This is a real warning. Russian’s are chess players, and while they might feint, they don’t bluff well.
Either this guy was talking out of his hat, or we are very close to a global nuclear war.
The only question is, do we risk killing hundreds of millions of people over this or hope that the Bear will be content with what she has? My guess is that Poland and the Ukraine are next no matter what, and we have to decide if we have the strength to fight them there, or in Germany and Alaska.
We can’t do anything because of the location. We can’t get troops in there logistically. Unless you want us to fight from the Siberian eastern shores to the Urals.
We can with Poland.
Again and again I have to respond to people who seem to think we are so tied up in two small fronts that we cannot respond to a third.
It just ain't true. If we have a problem at all, it is rotations, and trying to allow a year or more of downtime between deployments.
You are apparently reading MSM articles that keep errantly saying that units in the U.S. are not ready to deploy, but this is a technical issue caused by the need in Iraq for reconstruction battalions and military police which are often pulled from units and deployed where the rest of the unit in not needed. This affect their official readiness status but in no way prevents them from going to a third action and we have plenty available, not to mention that the U.S. Navy and Air Force are 95% or more available for action without affecting Iraq or Afghanistan.
The Marines have probably the largest loads, but that is being rectified. I hope you can rest easy that we have lot's of reserve, and we are not stretched beyond capacity. It's just that we are indeed busier than we have been since WWII and with Russia in particular or Iran, we would not need too much in the way of ground forces. Also, if the Russians were to engage us, it would bring to bear all of the NATO resources and more.
Naw, they are playing checkers and we are playing chess. That's what has people confused.
Can’t we move troops from Germany, through Poland, and then through the Ukraine?
Perhaps, however it is still doctrine and doctrine dictates that ANY NATO nation that gets attacked is considered an attack on ALL NATO nations.
Be prepared to be called a commie, a coward, and a traitor by the armchair commando brigade.
In other words, we are in a cold war again.
Sure, but that would make Germany, Poland, and the Ukraine at war with Russia.
I don’t understand why you see the two situations as analogous- the Russian missles in Cuba were to be offensive missles- what is planned to be in Poland is defensive- Patriot batteries. Not the same at all.
